President’s Corner

Thanks to all that participated in the Annual General Membership Meeting on the 3rd. A great way to finish the 2016 year – with record attendance and voting and good food to share with our community. Congratulations to the incoming Board members and also thanks to Rusty Morris and Gene DeBullet for their service volunteering to help guide the airfield. Complete results of the election can be found in this newsletter. Paving has been completed for 2016 and we can look forward to seal coating and refresh striping in the spring – as early as weather permits. The airport is looking very good and people continue to express interest in relocating to Hicks. The weatherman is finally predicting some cold and wet weather so be sure and minimize any damage with some winter prevention. I guess the doors will be closed more frequently for the next couple of months. Enjoy the Holidays with friends and families and maybe get some of those updates and projects done that have been on the list. Thanks to the Board of Directors and volunteers that have been a big part of making this Airfield a wonderful place. Next board meeting is February 9, 7pm at 569 Aviator Drive. Thanks to Bob Avery for allowing us to use his hangar for our meetings, however, it will not be available in 2017. If anyone can accommodate our meetings please let us know.
I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be part of Hicks Airfield and hope that everyone has a great Christmas and New Years Celebration. Remember this is your Airfield and your participation and voice needs to be heard at these meet-

Meeting cancelled due to lack of a quorum of Board members being present. Stephanie Benham & Beverly West were in attendance so HAPA members were able to direct questions to our PMG Representatives.

December 31, 2016 New Year’s Day Fly-In, Cherokee County Airport (KJSO), Jacksonville, TX Start the New Year right by visiting the New Years Day Flyin sponsored by EAA Chapter 1592. Enjoy ham, black eyed peas, greens and all your favorites. Probably some cornbread, too, to go with all the hangar flyin' and lyin' !!
