The flamingos are coming
The Flamingos are on the way back from vacation, well rested and ready to go!
They will start appearing the first part of March. Flocking order forms are
available at the Lodge, look for the display. This is a great way to put a smile
on someone’s face and to support our Relay for Life team.
“The Moose are on the Loose”

Here we go again with Mad Dash! If you
missed seeing them in January, they are coming
on March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day. They play all
kinds of music. Mostly, they have FUN! Get
your tickets early! We will have corned beef and
cabbage and the tickets will be $14.
Thanks to Don Hayward and Ruby Speaker
for pruning all the roses in the yard. You guys
are awesome!! Our yard is spruced up and ready
for spring planting.
The nominating committee has met and
approved a partial slate of officers to be voted on
at the last meeting in March. Those qualified to
run are: Donna Martinez - Senior Regent,
Denise Sebilian - Jr. Regent, Deloris Barnett -
Chaplain, Shirley Rivera Hicks - Recorder. The
Chapter is still looking for someone to be
Secretary Treasurer.
March 22—25 is the state convention in Reno.
We will honor our new Academy of Friendship
members.
Our Hunk of The Month is Stacey brown. He
cooked Cajun for the very successful Mardi Gras
and he recommended the awesome Blues Box
Bayou Band. When we want new ideas Stacey
leads the way. 2 Wednesday dinners are yours,
Stacey. Thanks for everything.
Our Volunteer of the Month is Laura Kriss.
She is the Guide. She sets up and cleans up for
every meeting. Laura is reliable, independent and
resourceful. She helps Arlis in the kitchen for the
WOTM. Thank you, Laura, for all that you do.
A presentation will be made at the first meeting
in March. The parking place is
yours for March
Hello members,
We are starting to see more
people coming to our functions.
Please keep up the good work.
This is another month full of
activities for all, come on down
and support us. On Saturday,
March 10, we will have the
annual LOOM crab feed. On
Saturday March 17, the WOTM will have their annual
St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance. Corned beef and
cabbage are on the menu. On Saturday March 31, Don
Knipping will be hosting a Mexican Dinner Dance.
Don’t forget about our other weekly functions.
Spaghetti Monday is doing well. It is such a great deal.
All you can eat spaghetti, salad and bread for only
$4.00. Tuesday Taco Night continues to do great, only
$1.00 a taco.
We are looking for LOOM Members that are
interested in being officers. It is a great way to get
involved and help make positive changes around the
lodge. The Board of Officers works as a team and we
need more people to be a part of that team. If you are
interested come in the office and sign a letter of interest.
There is only two more months left in this Moose
Lodge Calendar Year. As the year ends I would like to
focus on the key points that I made in the last Moose
Call.
As a member there are three ways that you help
support the lodge.
1. Membership The $52 special is on till April 30.
Two members get you dues paid for the next year.
2. Supporting our functions Check the calendar.
We try to have something for everyone.
3. Attending the meetings 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at
7:30 pm. Have a taco dinner and come and listen to
what is going on in your lodge.
My super Moose for the Month of March is Travis
O’Neal. Travis helps on a monthly breakfast crew and
he helps on some of the dinner dances. Thanks Travis
for all you great work. The WOTM Super Star this
month is Candy Garcal. Candy works on a taco crew.
She also works on a monthly breakfast crew. Candy is
enthusiastic and always happy to help when needed.
As always keep in touch. If you
have any questions, concerns or new
ideas call me at 755-4727 or email me
at [email protected]. Sincerely Yours,
Joe Croghan

UNSUNG HEROES
This month has been so busy and there has been so many functions. We need to remember that all these functions are put on by volunteers. Thank you to everyone. who cooked, worked the door, served food and helped with dec-orations. Thank you. Special thanks to the members who helped with the kids Valentines Day Party. Everyone was there in force. For you who couldn’t make it, you missed a Great Party!! Thank you to Samantha Cote and Tori Jo, Susanne Rowley, Vic-ki Stevenson, Marge Engen, Pat Moore, Larry & Diane Tate, Lori and Russ Cote, Taylor and Dee Harmon, Chuck Gonder, Mabel Carter, Ron & Janie Hood, Rose Straka, and Burt Zwarg. The ice cream sundaes were very chilling . The kids were all smiling when they left. Big thank you’s to Walkers Balloons. Thank you to all of you who make our lodge special!! Charline Gonder
FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR
Three months into the job and I am still here! And I am still learning! My biggest job is keeping the
Lodge operating and following the rules from Moose International, IRS, Franchise Tax Board,
Alcohol Beverage Control, and many other government entities. So with that in mind I want to
remind the membership of some rules. We are a private membership organization. Entry is limited
to members and guests and the members are responsible for their guests while in the Lodge. Guests
may not make any purchases and I ask all members to please courteously present your current
membership card when asked and do not loan your card to anyone. If you allow your card to expire,
you cannot come into the lodge even as a guest of another member. If you have a problem and need
assistance renewing your membership please contact the office and we will be glad to assist you.
We, your fraternal brothers and sisters, value you participation in the Family Center. If you know of
anyone who is in distress and might not be able to pay their membership due to hardship etc., please
contact me privately so I might be able to offer some assistance to keep the member as part of our
Brotherhood. Continuing on, alcohol can be consumed anywhere inside the building. Alcohol is not
allowed outside of the building . That means no drinking while outside having a cigarette or talking
to friends in the parking lot. If you observe a violation, please inform one of the officers so we may
take action. We cannot afford a violation that would cause us to lose our liquor
license and have to close the social quarters. For those who have not noticed, we
again have an ATM machine for the convenience of our members located near
the women’s restroom. As always, I ask you to please sign up for delivery of the
Moose Call via Email and to please purchase you lottery tickets from the
bartenders. As always, I am available to discuss your ideas and suggestions for
ways to improve the family center.

The Moose Will be on the loose once again at the 2012
American Cancer society Relay for Life event. Our theme this year is “Wishing for a Cure” and we will be raffling off a beautiful garden wishing well and a fabulous quilt inspired by the garden.
If you have a little time or extra energy please consider donating either or both to our Relay
team. We will need walkers, fund raisers, camp sight sitters and all kinds of other folks to help
out. Contact Julie Shaw at 701-0119 if you would like more info and would like to sign up to join the fun with The Moose on the Loose.
The Relay for Life event is on June 9 and 10 this year so mark your
Calendar.
Your Relay for Life captain,
Julie Shaw

Special thanks to Ken and Dan for mc’ing the award presentations. And special thanks to my wife, Denise, for putting on my Fellows jacket.
It was a very special night for me, and I sincerely thank you all. I have never felt so honored.

Did you know that until
the year 1752, March was
the first month of our
calendar year?? March
was named after the planet Mars
(the god of war). Early on it was
called Hlyd monath or Stormy
month. Remember “In like a lion
and out like a lamb”.
Alexander Bell the inventor of the
phone was born on March 3,1847 I
wonder what he would think of the
