FISH FIJI

Fiji is a collection of over 330 islands, just over 4 hours flying time from Australia. There are many fishing grounds surrounding the main island which is called Viti Levu, with the best grounds located in the north and the south of the island. Fiji is a fantastic location to chase the hard fighting Giant Trevally and in the realm of sport and game fishing there are Sailfish, Marlin, Dogtooth & Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Spanish Mackerel. Add a Coral Trout for a change in pace to take back to the chef and you are in paradise.

The Island of Taveuni is the third largest island in the group and is a further hour flight North of Nadi but this means you are fishing in some great waters. The species are the same but the likelihood of seeing another boat on the water is very minimum resulting in great fishing stock and little fishing pressure. It has been said to us Taveuni is out of the way! Out of the ordinary! And that is how you can describe its fishing.

The Solomon Islands are a lot closer than you think! Total privacy and a pristine environment is only a few hours away. Honiara receives direct flights from Brisbane. Honiara to Gizo is a one hour domestic flight and the scenery is absolutely stunning.

The Solomon Islands are rich in history especially around the second world war and from this attracts a large number WW 11 buffs and their families. Nauru is a tiny oval shaped island located 42 km south of the equator north east of Australia which has a nice consistent weather in the high 20s to mid 30s. Cooktown is 330 km north of Cairns and can be reached by a scenic 4hour drive or a 30 minute flight out of Cairns. Its name comes from the Captain Cook as it where he came ashore to repair his ship when he ran aground on the reef. It is no wonder the main river is called the Endeavour River in this area of ideal fishing.

The styles of fishing varies from estuary for big barramundi and mangrove jacks and to reef fishing chasing GTs, Mackerels, Coral Trout and many other tropical reef fish.

CAIRNS to CAPE YORK This area provides some very different styles of fishing from big 1000lb marlin to the amazing Barramundi. The area between Cairns and Townsville is one of the best light tackle game fishing in the world. Operators are also available in these areas and further North.

VICTORIAN KIDS TRIPS: During the school holidays we run special kids trips out of Mornington designed for parents to introduce their kids into fishing or just a fun 4 hours for family fishing. The trips are run on a Sunday afternoon from 1.00pm to 5.00pm and cost $130 for one adult and one child (14 and under), which includes all bait and tackle, expert skipper and deckie, sausage sizzle and prizes at the end of the trip. BLUE FIN TUNA

Eaglehawk Neck is a 50 minute drive south of Hobart and it is famous for its large Southern Bluefin tuna, as well as Albacore tuna, Yellowfin tuna, Trumpeter and Mako sharks. Your accommodation, the Lufra Hotel and Apartments, with its spectacular scenic views is only a 5 minute drive to the jetty at Pirates Bay, where you will be greeted by your expert skipper. You will be fishing on board a 26 foot boat with quality gear.
