GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS They are aquatic animals, both freshwater and

saltwater .

Are ectothermics: body temperature are dependent on having the water.

They can feed in different ways: filter feeders, predators, carnivores…

covered with scales.

They have gills for breathing and heart divided into two chambers, an atrium and a ventricle.

They have separate sexes. Most are oviparous, some ovoviviparous.
