2016 Sunday school Report

We have 8 children in our Sunday school this year. We have 4 teachers and 1 confirmation student helping. We are still using the SPARK material this year. Both the teachers and the kids seem to enjoy using this material.

Our “Souper Bowl of Caring” collection started our year out. The congregation donated food and money for this cause. We col-lected 53lbs of food. All the donations were given to the Rib Lake food pantry.

On Mother’s day we purchased Carnations and handed them out to all the ladies that were at church that day.

We once again sold the “God’s Creation” calendars and notepads. All money from the fundraiser was used towards the boxes we pack for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child and also for Sunday school supplies and costumes that we needed for the Christmas program.

In November we packed 25 boxes for the “Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child” program. We always talk to the kids while doing this project so that they understand that the children getting these Christmas boxes don’t get anything else at Christ-mas time. We collected items and money donations from the congregation to help us with the cost of filling and shipping these boxes out. The Sunday school went out and bought any items that were still needed for the boxes and paid for shipping out the boxes. The kids always seem to have a great time packing these boxes. It is a highlight of our year!

We ended the year with our Christmas program. Our Program this year was “Larry King Live”. As always the children did a great job. It is so fun to see how the Sunday school children are growing up. All the children had speaking parts in the program this year. We handed out candy bags to all the kids at church that day along with ornaments for everyone in the church. We fin-ished out the morning by going downstairs for potluck and “Happy Birthday Jesus” cake.

We are blessed to be able to spend time with the Sunday school children!!
