The HVAC Program provides rebates for the installation of high-efficiency HVAC equipment to Pennsylvania residential customers of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power and West Penn Power. This equipment must be installed by a participating contractor and must meet all program requirements. HVAC Equipment Terms and Conditions1. Equipment and services must be purchased and installed between June 1, 2013, and May 31, 2016. 2. Rebate application must be submitted within 180 days of installation and be postmarked by June 7, 2016. Must submit one rebate application form per unit.3. Work must be completed by a participating contractor.4. Applicant must be a Pennsylvania residential customer of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power or West Penn Power, FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities.5. It is the responsibility of the customer to assure that all requirements for the rebate are met. Failure to provide any of the required information will prevent processing of your application.6. Rebate payments are based on the equipment purchase date. Customers must abide by the rules and rebate levels in effect on the date of purchase. Rebate levels cannot exceed the cost of the equipment.7. Whole house fan must be installed in a home with a central air conditioner or heat pump to qualify for the rebate.8. Purchase must be of a qualified high-efficiency electric central air conditioner, heat pump, geothermal heat pump or ductless mini split air conditioner or heat pump as defined in the table on this rebate application form. Both the condenser and coil /indoor unit must be replaced and installed as a matched set as defined by AHRI.9. The efficiency levels are based on the Air-conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certified performance criteria of an outdoor unit and indoor coil (and/or furnace/blower) working together. These ratings are found on the AHRIdirectory.org website. All ENERGY STAR qualified equipment must be listed at energy.gov in order to participate in this program. Both the outdoor unit and coil /indoor unit must be replaced and installed as a matched set.10. FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities and/or their designees including program administrators and evaluation contractors reserve the right to review installations to verify completion and measure energy savings to ensure compliance with all program requirements. Such reviews will be made at a time convenient to the applicant. Misrepresentation of installation location or measure eligibility may result in forfeiture of the rebate.

11. Program procedures, requirements and rebate levels are subject to change or cancellation without notice and are subject to available program funds.12. Payment will be issued to the account holder and mailing address on record with the utility.13. Please allow up to 90 days from the date all required information is received to process your rebate(s).14. Installations must be completed in accordance with all laws, codes and other requirements applicable under federal, state and local authority.15. You are urged to seek appropriate consultation concerning any tax liabilities that could be associated with the receipt of the rebate.16. FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities and Honeywell International, Inc., their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and agents assume no responsibility for the performance of the equipment or equipment warranty, the quality of the work, labor and/or materials supplied, and/or the acts or omissions of the participating contractor.17. The customer hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless, FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any and all liability associated with this project.18. I understand that I may be contacted by FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities via survey or questionnaire to provide feedback on my satisfaction with the program.19. By participating in this program, Customer agrees to allow the local utility (Metropolitan Edison Company, Pennsylvania Electric Company, Pennsylvania Power Company or West Penn Power Company) to take ownership of the Energy Efficiency resource credits associated with the measures generated through this program. Your local utility may at its sole discretion then aggregate your credits with other similarly situated customers and bid the credits into the PJM market through an auction. Any proceeds from any such bids accepted by PJM will be used to offset the costs charged to the utility’s customers for compliance with state mandated energy efficiency and/or peak demand requirements.
