THE COMING KINGDOM

Jeremiah could see it coming—the kingship of Jesus and the restoration of Jerusalem. But was anybody listening? Is anybody listening now? It must have been tough being a prophet, but Jeremiah was persistent in his message be-cause he knew that it needed to be heard.

Also persistent in his message is Paul as he encourages the Thessalonians—and all of us—to live in accordance with the kingship that Jeremiah foretold. He encourages us to conduct ourselves in ways of holiness so that we may be well prepared for the king’s coming. Finally, Jesus himself tells us to be ever diligent so that we may gain favor before our God and King.

Jeremiah could see the kingship of Jesus coming. As we begin the season of Advent, Paul and Jesus tell us not only how to prepare for the Kingdom, but how to live it day to day.

ADVENT NOVENA

December 3rd-12th

Continuing our annual tradition, this year we will be celebrat-ing a bilingual novena during the season of Advent, with special honor given to Our Lady of Guadalupe. After each Mass, coffee and donuts, and hot chocolate and Mexican bread will be served. The final night, we will be having a Kermes! If you would like to help, please contact the church office. We especially need lectors and Eucharistic ministers.

ACA PLEDGES

Again, we are most grateful to our loyal donors and the new donors who have pledged to the Diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal. If you were not present or prepared to make a pledge last weekend, we invite you to do so today. Your gift is essential to sustaining the many ministries of the Diocese of Yakima. This year’s goal: $35,685.00

November 15th, 2015– $3,012.57

Needed - $4,100.00

YTD Received - $80,635.37

Budgeted - $86,100.00

PLEASE NOTE: There will be Religious Education this Wednesday Dec. 2nd.

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

Our auction raised $175,000! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our supporters. This school is a very special place.

Do you have the gift of singing or playing a musi-cal instrument? We are in need of help with mu-sic for the 8:00 Mass. If you would be interested in helping with this very important ministry, please contact Fr. Miguel. Thank you!

There will be no bilingual Vigil Masses on the 5th and the 12th of December, as we will celebrate Mass on

those days in the Gym at 6:30 for the Advent Novena.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU

The parish would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Tim Paul and Matt Eisen for the

years of dedicated service in liturgical worship that they have so generously contributed. We have been blessed on countless occasions by

their beautiful music, both during Masses and at special events. Thank you for giving of your

time and your talent!

SPECIAL DISPENSATION Tuesday, December 8, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is the patronal feast of the United States and a holy day of obligation, as well as the beginning of the Extraordinary Jubilee

Year of Mercy. As a sign of God’s mercy, and in view of the great devotion many of our people have for Our Lady of

Guadalupe, Bishop Joseph Tyson is dispensing the obligation to attend Mass December 8 for those who attend a Guada-lupe Mass December 12. As is already the case, Catholics who are unable to attend Mass on a holy day of obligation may seek a dispensation from a priest or deacon of the Dio-cese, who can either excuse the person from the obligation completely, or commute it to another pious work, such as

praying the Rosary.

Check out our Giving tree! Take a tag and donate, to help make Christmas a

special time of year for a little boy or girl who may not get any gifts otherwise.

"Whoever receives this child in My name re-ceives Me, and whoever receives Me receives

Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great."

Luke 9:48

Just in case you wondered...there won’t be daily 9:00 am Mass at the chapel from Dec. 4th –11th, except on the

10th, which will be at the school. After the Novena, it’s back to business as usual!

WHITE MASS for Medical Professionals will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2nd at St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima at 7:00 pm. Please see the Diocese website for details: www.yakimadiocese.org

LA VENIDA DEL REINO

Jeremí as lo veí a venir –el reinado de Jesu s y la restaura-cio n de Jerusale n. Pero, ¿habí a alguien que le escuchara? ¿Alguien escucha ahora?
