3.CO N N ECT YOU R R OB OT TO TH E IN TERN ET

N AO needs to access the Internet to dow nload apps and upgrades. You can connect N AO

using a w ired or W i-Fi connection:

W ired connection is m andatory for the initial settings.

W i-Fi connection is highly recom m ended as soon as N AO starts m oving.

Follow the next few steps:

a. Rem ove the hatch behind his head to access to the Ethernet socket and plug the

Ethernet cable.

b. Connect the Ethernet cable:

to your netw ork router if it has a spare Ethernet port

or to your com puter directly (you w ill need to w ait a few m inutes before

continuing to next step, just be patient!)

c. Once connected, click once the chest button. N AO

, and the 4 num bers of its IP address.

(four num bers betw een 0

and 255, separated by periods).

d. Open an Internet brow ser. In the address bar, type the address http://123.123.123.123

(replace the num bers w ith the robot internet address) and validate.

e. N AO W ebpage opens. Enter login: nao and passw ord: nao

f. You m ay have to read and accept the term s and conditions.

g. and find your W i-Fi netw ork nam e in the list and click on it

i. if required, enter the pass key

j. Your robot obtains a new IP Address from you w ireless netw ork.

N ote the IP Address; this is the new address to use w ith the W i-Fi. You can then

unplug the E thernet cable and let N AO m ove freely, connected w irelessly.

k. Once you have unplugged the Ethernet, refresh the brow ser w ith the new IP Address.

sentences you can use to launch these applications.

b. You can display the trigger sentences of all the apps in the languages you need by

clicking on the flags.

N ote that if m ost apps are translated into English, som e m ay not have been translated

in your language. In this case, the trigger sentence w ill be the nam e of the application.

9.SETU P YOU R SECO N D LAN GU AGE

Your N AO package includes tw o languages. English is com pulsory; you can choose the

second language.

N ote: you can only choose once, and then you w ill not be able to change the second language

anym ore!

You need to have com pleted chapters2,3 and4 before starting.

page), and go
