The first 54” S-Type ERDIP (Earthquake Resistant Ductile Iron Pipe) arrived at site of LADWP (Los Angeles Department of Water & Power) in August. Cornell University verifies the safety of ERDIPThe following tests were performed under instruction of Pro. T.D. O’Rourke at Cornell University.1. Joint tension test of 6” diameter ERDIP2. Split basin test of 6” diameter ERDIP3. Bending test of 6”, 12” and 16” diameter ERDIPThe result proved the performance of ERDIP.

6” ERDIP shown in blue was buried under30” below ground crossing the fault.
