HighlightsAUSTAD is a comprehensive, private university located on the Yas Island. AUSTAD was established in 2004 as an institute of higher education with the main objective of producing outstanding professionals in specializations that match the needs of UAE and the Arab World. The Faculty of Information Technology prepares students to venture into the dynamically changing field of computing, information management, software engineering, Web applications, computer networking and telecommunications. How to Apply

AUSTAD will look at the student's entire application, including grades, test scores, extracurricular work, recommendations, personal statements, etc. We cannot evaluate an application without the submission of all parts; there is no single most important element to the application. Before submitting any form, be sure to make copies for your own records (this step does not apply to teacher recommendation letters, which should not be shared with the student or his/her family prior to submission; instead, request that your teacher retain a copy of your recommendation for his/her records).

Please submit all supplemental materials digitally via the Application website whenever possible. If necessary, you may submit documents in hard copy to:

Student Application Checklist

Complete the online Application. If you are submitting a paper version of the Application, you may download the corresponding paper version on our website.

Ask your counselor and instructor(s) to complete and submit the required School Forms that are required. By providing an email address for your school officials, they will be sent a message inviting them to fill out the recommendation forms online. They will also have the option of submitting any documents in hard copy by mail. You, the student, should follow up with your teacher and counselor as well. Please note:

The school officials you identify do not need to wait for you to submit your application before submitting their supporting school forms, but a university will not be able to access their forms until you have submitted your application. Specific instructions can be found in the "School Form" section of the Application.

If you choose to complete the forms on paper, you should print the appropriate PDF forms, fill in the application information area, and provide them to your counselor and instructor(s).The following forms are required:

Secondary School Report At least one Teacher Recommendation Form. Teachers or counselors may submit

additional recommendation forms. Mid-Year Report with updated transcript, showing first semester/term grades from your

Admission process may slightly vary from one program to another. However, this page gives details of a standard procedure for admission.

All candidates must provide an application file. Only complete files are accepted. The file should be sent by email, fax, or post. The final decision is communicated as soon as possible for the applicant to know if they have been admitted.

Cultural activities

Cultural and student services department promotes and helps the university implement its mission. Faithful to its vocation, the university chooses the cultures’ dialogues as mentioned in the university’s motto "a bridge between civilizations".

Different clubs and workshops are organized under the guidance of qualified professionals from different nationalities to enhance the student’s personality and mind by heightening the importance of culture in life. It educates students how to build bridges with the world around them through multicultural dialogue. It also establishes an inter-university links in the UAE and abroad.

Artistic activities such as Music, Painting, Photos, Arabic calligraphy, Poetry, Cooking and Heritage workshops are regularly organized, which allows students to broaden their skills and stimulate exchange and idea sharing.

University facilities

The university campus represents the ideal environment for the student life; a total of 150.000 square meters of teaching and entertainment facilities equipped with the latest technologies, with two separate blocks for students accommodation 500 male and female students in single rooms, a multi-hall cafeteria, a huge library, an auditorium with 1000 seats, designed to suit all sorts of presentations, seminars, concerts and performances, a parking with a capacity of 800 vehicles, on surface and underground, a succession of gardens, tennis courts, multi-purpose sports halls hosting some of the best equipment in the region.

Cafeteria

Opening hours: Sunday-Thursday 8:00 AM to 09:00 PM / Weekends 08:00 AM to 06:00 PMLocation: Building E4 main floor

The Cafeteria provides a wide variety of healthy dishes for breakfast, meals, and snacks, at affordable rates. There is also a wide range of coffees and teas available as well as cold drinks and confectionery. Students have the choice to either sitting in air conditional area or can also enjoy sitting on the outside deck. The kitchen is totally modern and with state of the art mechanized cooking range.

Medical Centre

The Medical Center is located in building E2 main floor, and is open 24hrs a day to all students at AUSTAD and provides physical examinations required of students, medical check-ups, and the usual daily health services for students, faculty, and staff.

Academic facilities

AUSTAD provides classrooms, lecture theatres, computer labs, language labs, music room, art room, and other facilities directly related to learning are also provided.

Prayer rooms

Separate prayer rooms are available for both make and female: The male prayer room is located in building E4- room 120 and the female prayer room is located in building E5- room 132.

Vending machines

Snack food and beverage vending machines are available in convenient locations such as classrooms hallway (Building E4).

ATM/ cash machine is located at the entrance to the Cafeteria and is a member of most member of ATM network. Its services are provided 24 hours a day.
