GIVING

OPPORTUNITY

The O’Brien Country food pantry continues to provide food for an unprecedented number of people. As a result, they are struggling to keep the food pantry stocked. As we continue to battle Covid-19 and all of the economic issues that it has created, there is a real need for people to help provide food for those who have been adversely affected by the pandemic. Some towns do not have a summer lunch program for children, and as such food items that are kid-friendly are especially needed. The pantry has refrigerators and freezers, so people can donate meat, dairy products, and fresh fruit and vegetables.

BELOW IS A LIST OF SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT ARE MOST NEEDED.

Pasta—all varieties Hambuger helper/Tuna Helper Ramen noodles Cereal Pancake mix Peanut Butter Jelly Canned vegetables - all kinds Canned fruit - all varieties Applesauce Canned soups—all types Canned tuna & chicken

Juice—all types Sugar, brown sugar & flour Fresh fruits & veggies Dairy products—milk, cheese, etc. Yogurt & cottage cheese Boxed gelatin & pudding Fruit cups, Jello or pudding cups Pop tarts & granola bars Raisins (small boxes) Meat - all kinds - they have a

freezer - must be from locker or store w/ USDA sticker

You may drop off items at O’Brien County Implement. Simply place the items inside their entryway and they will deliver them for you to Upper Des Moines. Or you can make a delivery to the pantry in Primghar yourself. The building is located right by the water tower. The address is 140 2nd Street SE. Deliveries need to be made between 8:30AM to 3:30PM. Call Brenda ahead of time at 712-957-1023. Then ring the doorbell at the back/north door and she can transport the supplies into the building. Also, if you would like to donate but do not want to go to the grocery store, you have two possible options. 1) Bring or send in a check to the church office with Upper Des Moines designated in the memo line and Wendy will shop for the items at the local grocery stores. The church’s address is 1101 7th Street, Sheldon, IA 51201. 2) Order your items online. Go to https://www.hy-vee.com/grocery/. Then follow their instructions to order groceries online & you simply pick them up. IF YOU WISH TO DONATE MEAT, FROZEN, OR REFRIGERATED ITEMS DO NOT TAKE THEM TO O’BRIEN COUNTY IMPLEMENT. BRING THEM TO THE CHURCH & WENDY WILL DELIVER THEM TO PRIMGHAR FOR YOU.

CHURCH EMAIL UPDATE

If you would like to receive church emails and don’t currently receive them, please call the church (324-2130) & give the email address to Wendy. You may also fill out the connection card with this information & place it in the basket as you leave the sanctuary.
