This is the season of graduations. Graduations are both fun and a little scary. They represent the end of one era – and the start of another.

But sometimes I wonder if we would have moved on if we didn't have to. That dorm room was comfortable, the cafeteria (all you can eat!) was convenient, everything I needed was within easy walking distance. A full-time job, maintaining my own apartment, paying taxes – that seemed daunting. But to do anything other than move on would be wrong.

In our adult lives, do we let the fear of transition keep us in places where the status quo is too easy to maintain? Do we allow ourselves to get used to things as they are when they could be a lot better?

In the business world, a common refrain is: "being good enough isn't good enough." Yet too often we see churches decline because they decided to be satisfied with "good enough." And is your relationship with God as good as it ought to be, or have you settled for "good enough"?

After the Exodus, God's people had not been permitted to cross the Jordan. But after Moses died, God commanded Joshua to take charge and lead the people across the Jordan River to the Promised Land. God said to Joshua: "Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Is there a Jordan River in your life that you haven't crossed? Are you waiting on the banks, unsure of whether to undertake the journey? If it's the journey God wants you to be on, go. God will be with you. And the Promised Land is waiting.

Peace and blessings,
