The purpose of this project is to develop the old system used in

managing personnel records at Mandaluyong Police Station. Specifically, it

sought to answer the following problems: (1) How long does it take to record

the policemen’s profile in the current system? (2) How accurate is the

process in producing the personal data sheets and the profile records sorted

by gender, religion, blood type and status of appointment. (1) The main

objective of the study is to come up with a system that will manage

personnel information at the station with the following specified objectives;

To shortened the process in recording the policemen profiles. (2) To have a

fast and accurate output of the Personal Data Sheets and the profile records

sorted by gender, religion, blood type and status of appointment.

The proponents make use of different instruments like interview and

documentary analysis and the spiral method of software development was

adapted in the course of the study.

The proponents establish two alternative solutions for the proposed

system’s (1) implementation in a stand-alone setting and (2) implementation

in a networked environment using client-server setting.

The two alternatives were subjected to different feasibility studies

namely; organization resource, technical, schedule and economic. For the

technical feasibility, alternative 1 is better than alternative 2, because of its

flexibility, for the economic feasibility; Organizational & Cultural feasibility

and recourses feasibility, Alternative 1 is more usable and reliable; it’s a tie

for Schedule feasibility. Based on the analysis from such studies made, the

potential benefits to the development of Administration office of

Mandaluyong police station, the proponents strongly recommends the

implementation of alternative 1 or the stand-alone setting for the procedures

inside the library.

The final output of this study is Mandaluyong Police Personnel

Information Management System which will be a better alternative to the

existing system, this will improve the transactions in the administration

office. The system was done using Visual Basic 6.0 language as front end

with Microsoft Access as back-end.
