Welcome to the First Family

First Edition - page 2

Here we are at Easter weekend. The whole atmosphere of the church changes. A certain excitement lls the air in anticipation of the Sunday worship Services. The empty tomb and the personal encounter with the living Christ carries a certain hope that ignites our hearts. May our church open its doors to those who will come and present the living Christ in such a manner that lives will be stirred with the Good News of the resurrected Savior. Friday, we remember the cross and the sacri ce of Christ. At the cross, there is the body given for us and the blood that covers our sin. The remembrance of the cross is made complete with the celebration of the Lord’s supper. That kind of remembrance has a presence of the Lord that carries such a blessing. Saturday is “Eggciting Saturday”. There will over 5,000 eggs for children to nd. Parents, grandparents, and kids will be everywhere. The whole event is planned to let that generation of parents know we are reaching out with an invitation to experience the joy of the Christian life. It is exciting to watch and be a part of the joy that Christ brings. Sunday will be a day of worship. The services will start with baptism. Those who have committed their lives to Christ will be buried with him in baptism and raised to walk in the newness of Christ.” I will preach on the resurrection through the eyes of Mary Magdalene. Let her experience show us what it means to encounter the living Christ. The music will be special, the sermon will be biblical, and the invitation will be given. All of this is to let people know that God loves them so much. There are so many needs outside our church. A visit to the hospitals gives us a picture of the world in which we live in. Fairhope is such a great community, but the needy are everywhere. May we look for opportunities to minister and show the outside world that those inside the church care. Also, there are needs inside our church. Members face situations that seem to overwhelm. What is desperately needed is a caring person to recognize that need and come alongside that person with the love of Christ. Here is the body of Christ experiencing the love of Christ. Have a good two weeks. May God bless each of you. Being pastor of First Baptist Fairhope is an amazing honor. Susan and I are blessed.Your Pastor, Jerry Galatians 2:20

Our very own missionaries, Ron & Jean Mitchell, are currently serving another 3 month tour in Brazil helping a local church to spread the good news of the Gospel. One of their primary means of doing this is using what is known as an EvangeCube. This tool has been ultra-successful in leading people to Christ in Brazil. Through some circumstances, a ministry in Brazil has 4,000 of these “CUBES” already in country that they are needing to sell. Normally with shipping costs and a 40% excise tax the “CUBES” would cost around $13 each. They are available for $6.70 through this ministry, so we are asking for everyone to donate at least one (1) for $7.00.

We want to help Ron & Jean purchase as many of these “CUBES” as possible…all 4,000 is our goal. HOW CAN YOU HELP? You can donate the cost of one (1) or more of these “CUBES” by making out your check to First Baptist and simply writing CUBES on the bottom of your check.

NOTE: We currently have $17,358.00 toward our goal of $24,000.00

CONNECTIONS OUTREACHTuesdays, April 14 & 28 :: 6:00pm in Social HallJoin us as we seek to “Make Him Known” by delivering info packets & fresh baked cookies to those who have recently been our Guests in worship and recent Newcomers to our area.

Our North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting. NAMB estimates that 3 out of 4 people living in the United States and Canada do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of our gifts to the Annie O ering, the gospel is being shared in under-served and under-reached places, new churches are being started and People are coming to Christ and growing in Him. Help reach those that are lost in our own North America....Give to the Annie O ering!
