These are just some of the unusual characters, along with shape shifting peacocks, a superhero dog and a big friendly monster, that are brought to life in this year’s First Draft. Let them whisk you into space, down to the bottom of the sea and everywhere in between, and all from the comfort of your seat! You won’t regret it. Enter the imaginations of 9 and 10 year olds from across Tyne & Wear as six stories are transformed from doodles into short plays performed by a team of professional actors. Who knows the scary characters might even turn out to be not so frightening after all!

The QuayLink bus service runs every 10 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes during the evening until midnight providing a safe and easy way of getting to and from the Theatre. ParkingThere is a car park in the Trinity Gardens complex 100 metres from the Theatre, which can be accessed from City Road and Trinity Gardens. This secure car park is open from 7am to midnight and costs 90p per hour and is free after 5pm. There is limited on-street parking on Broad Chare and additional car parks nearby.
