keynote speakerssteve ford leadership with character

History shows that individuals who prioritize service above self-interest during times of turmoil andcrisis are regarded as true leaders. But how does one go about the business of leading with character?

Steve Ford had a front-row seat to history in 1974 when his father become the 38th President of the United States due to the Watergate scandal. Ford observed how his father wrestled with (and resolved) difficult

and controversial situations during his presidency. Applying what he learned, Ford negotiated a bumpy road of his own — from the White House to his 20-year career as a successful Hollywood actor. During his

Opening Keynote address, Ford will share how he learned to lead with character in the workplace and life.

dr. robert eMery staying on course in a sea of constant change A recent straw poll conducted by The University of Texas yielded astonishing results: Among the 50 very

experienced loss prevention professionals polled, 80 percent had reported to their current supervisor for less than five years and 25 percent for less than one year. Such results underscore that ‘change is the

only constant’ — but adapting to change is not something traditionally taught during one’s academic career preparation. Do you know how best to frame and deliver information to ensure continued program support?

Dr. Robert emery, Vice President for Safety, Health, environment & Risk Management for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, will present tips on managing change successfully and options

to consider for communicating essential information in an ever-changing world during the Closing Session.
