FIRST CIVILIZATIONS With the advances in farming, populations continued to grow, especially in the areas that had the most arable land. This led to the development of something new, Civilization. Population growth created many problems that needed to be addressed and solved. It also resulted in the sharing of new ideas and ways of life that led to social and cultural growth like never before.
