The Christian Singles Hikers are announcing our schedule for 2010, which is our fourteenth year of enjoying outdoor events together.  Thanks to everybody who agreed to lead an event!  Come join us to share the nice weather, the beauty of the outdoors, and some great fellowship.  Please mark these down on your calendar and come with us for some of our events:

Contact Mott at [email protected] or 781-320-0663 to RSVP or find out more about the hike or to find out more about the hiking group.

July 17              New Britain, CT. Come enjoy a nice hike on the Ragged Mountain Preserve Trail.  This six mile loop goes along scenic ledges overlooking the Hart Ponds, which the AMC named as one of the top views from a cliff edge in the northeastern US.  During the hike, we will go by a cliff with a free-standing wall that appears almost man-made and will have views of the Hanging Hills of Meriden.  For those who can stay, we will also be enjoying a local fireworks display at dusk.

August  28        Rockport, MA.  Enjoy with us the sweeping ocean views and the interesting old granite quarry at Halibut Point State Park. We will then go walking through Rockport and eat at one of its restaurants. When we have gone in the past, Christian Singles Hikers has had some of the largest turnouts we have ever had; come see why.

September *     George Washington Forest, RI.  Join us in walking about on the Walkabout Trail in this well forested park with rolling hills and a few ponds in the northwest corner of Rhode Island. We plan to have a picnic lunch together afterwards.

October *        Blue Hills, MA. The fall colors should be near their peak, so come enjoy this beauty in all directions from the rocky summit.  This large green oasis near Boston makes one forget how close the city is.  There a wide variety of plant and animal life here, so come enjoy the beauty that God created.

November 6     Mashamoquet Brook State Park (Wolf Den), CT.  Come enjoy a brisk late fall hike and a lunch together afterwards.  The park is also called Wolf Den because we will see the den where the state's last wild wolf lived.  When we have gone in the past, we have had large turnouts; come join us this time.

* = to be determined

To find out more about our group, contact Mott at [email protected] or 781-320-0663.  For those on our email list, we will send the details about an event approximately one week before it is scheduled to take place.  We look forward to seeing you at these events!

Hi Friends,

It's no secret that many of us have been feeling the strain of raising up teens in this fallen world.  We are starting to meet on Wednesday nights starting tomorrow from 6pm- 8pm up at the Tack Shop on the second floor.  The address is 1260 Woodtick Rd, Wolcott, ct.  I'm sure I've forgotten to invite people so please feel free to invite anyone that comes to mind.  Although our initial focus will be aimed towards the unique challenging and opportunity of raising teens, we encourage anyone to attend that has been stretched by life relationships:)  We are a group coming together to encourage, support and learn from each other, to strengthen and build  each other up. This is not intended to take the place of small groups of individual churches, we welcome everyone to discover biblical principles for parenting and living the life God has called us to.  The reason we are doing this in addition to the regular small groups is because several of the people that may attend are not ready to set foot into a church yet. Please come by, check it out, have a cup of tea, see what God has in store for us!!!In Him,Laurie 203-206-6393Laurene Morgan, RN, BSN Nursing Instructor, Lincoln Tech
