FIRST AID TRAINING PROGRAMME
First Aid Training Programme was conducted by the Youth Red Cross Unit of Ramco
Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam on 10.03.2017, Friday at 02.00 p.m in ECE Seminar Hall.
The YRC Volunteer G.S.Abishek welcomed the Gathering. The Principal
Dr.R.V.Mahendra Gowda presided over the function. In his presidential address, the Principal
highlighted essentials of First Aid Training to save the life in the needy situation. He highlighted
the proverb “Prevention is better than Cure”. We all should avoid the unwanted accidents. If it
happened, everyone should know how to do the First Aid. For such activities the First Aid
Training is needed, he added. He asked the Youth Red Cross Volunteers to train other students to
perform First Aid.
Rtn.Dr.G.Kothandaraman, President, Indian Medical Association Branch, Rajapalayam
was the Guest and he addressed the Youth Red Cross Volunteers and other participants about the
need and significance of the First Aid Training. He quoted various “Thirukkural” verses related
to the First Aid and hence insisted its importance. After the addressing, he demonstrated the
First Aid for Giddiness, Heart Attack, Drowning in Water, Met with an Accident etc., on the
Stage with the help of a participant. He has shown various Power Point Presentations, Videos
and animations to the participants regarding the First Aid. He told that every minute in the First
Aid is important. After doing the first aid, the patient has to be brought to the nearby hospital
immediately for further treatment. He asked the Youth Red Cross volunteers and other
participants to do the First Aid actively without any fear if required.
Around 150 members including Youth Red Cross Volunteers, Teaching and Non-
Teaching Staff, Lab Technicians and Drivers of Ramco Institute of Technology and our sister
concern Rotary Vidyalaya Matriculation School actively participated in the Programme.
The YRC Volunteer S.Rajaguru proposed the Vote of thanks. The YRC Co-ordinator
P.Gershom Jebaraj made all the necessary arrangements and coordinated the Programme.

Ref: Communication received from AICTE, New Delhi and MHRD, GOI, dated 17th
August 2017 regarding SWACCHTA PAKHWADA.

08.09.2017- Village Visit
On this day NSS officer and 25 NSS volunteers visited Idayankulam village to explain the
concept of cleanliness and planted 20 trees in the village.

Yoga training programme-04.11.2017
Yoga training programme was conducted in Ramco Institute of Technology,
Rajapalayam on 04.11.2017, Tuesday at 03.00 p.m in RIT Auditorium.
Yoga Expert Dr. Sivasankaran, Executive Director, JJ Group Institutions, Trichy
participated in the Programme.
Dr. Sivasankaran performed various Asanas in Yoga. The teaching and non-teaching
faculty members also performed the Asanas in the Venue. In this program 41 members
participated.

Sapling Plantation, Clean Hostel and Clean Campus Program -12.11.2017
A tree plantation programme was conducted in the campus on 12.11.2017 from 09:00 pm
to 05:00 pm. N.S.S. volunteers and the programme officer participated in the programme. 2000
saplings of various were planted in near the Parking Shed. In this program 261 volunteers
participated.
