Section 1. Installation and Mounting Upper Mounting PS-24083

PROCEDURE.

1. Remove OEM emergency exit ladder and if necessary bolting blocks from

enclosure wall.

2. Fit Mounting Frame (per all views) and End Web (per Details X and W).

3. Use safe working and lifting procedures at all time, eg the mounting frame can be

slung from the Landing above until welded into place.

NOTE

Follow all on-site/Mine lifting and safety procedures when fitting the

Emergency ladder fabrications to Excavator.

1. Fit Mounting Frame (per all views) and End Web (per Details X and W).

2. Use safe working and lifting procedures at all time, eg the mounting frame can be slung from the landing

above until welded into place.

1. Fit the two Lower Landing Support Arms to the isolators fitted per Drg 24 085.

2. Fit the Lower Landing to the support arms then the handrails and kickboard to the

lower landing.

Section 1. Installation and Mounting Upper Mounting PS-24087

PROCEDURE - Landing.

1. Fit the two Top Landing Support arms to the isolators fitted per Drg 24 085, per

Views Z & Y.

2. Fit the Top Landing to the Landing Supports and then the Handrails to the Landing.

3. Cut away the existing toeboard from the OEM cabin landing the full width of the

new top landing and down to the level of the floor or 5mm below the level of the

floor - eliminate any part of the toeboard that might be a trip hazard during urgent

use of the fire escape as shown in View Y.

4. Cut away/re-model the OEM handrails on the cabin landing to suit the position of

the new landing handrails. Material from the original handrails can be re-used for

re-modelling and/or Handrail Stock per Drg P30 374. See View Y.

5. Fit Gate Bar 24 054 99, per View Y.

PROCEDURE.

See Drawing Pge 8

1. Fit the Fixed Ladder as shown in View Z. At the top the ladder attaches (using

isolators) to the protruding top front mounting arm. The isolators are be bolted to

plates clamped to the support arm, per View Z. At the bottom the ladder is to be

attached to the lower landing as shown in View X and Detail W - the Ladder Base

Link is be attached to flanges on the landing using isolators bolted to the flange,

and the ladder is to be attached to the Link again using isolators.

2. Move the ladder horizontally sideways at the top so it aligns with the bottom of the

ladder by moving the clamp plates on the support arm. Tighten the clamp bolts.

Choose holes for the ladder-mounted isolators at the bottom so that the ladder

inclines at about 75° to the horizontal.

3. Fit the Ladder Cage to the Fixed Ladder.

4. Fit the Hinged Ladder to the back of the lower landing per View Z. Fit balance

springs between the end cleats of the tubular crossbeam on the ladder and cleats

on the protruding fixed arms at the back of the landing. Using chain at the end/s of

the springs, adjust the spring tension so the ladder can easily belifted (with a rope)

from the deployed position to the horizontal stow position. The springs and chains

must stay tight when the ladder is horizontal and allow the ladder to descend to or

near its’ fully deployed position

under its’ own weight.

PROCEDURE

1. Fit the Latch Mountings to the landing of the Power Step stair, per Views X, Y & Z.

Note that the holes on the side of the landing were originally provided for another

purpose and must be drilled out to ~14 to suit the mounting flange, per View X.

2. Using the adjustments provided in the Latch Mounting adjust the height of the latch

to make the stowed ladder level and lying parallel with the excavator.

3. Per View W, adjust the position of the latch so that the top of the Rear Jaw Plate is

vertical when the latch is engaged on the rung - the Rear Jaw Plate must be

buttressed buy the rung so that the latch will release when the release lanyard is

pulled.

4. Run the Latch Release Lanyard from the attachment on the front jaw of the latch,

through the lanyard guide and up to the front handrail of the new top landing. Tie it

to the handrail in a position to suit. The lanyard must be loose, but not so loose as

to allow it to tangle in any part of the access system, emergency exit or excavator.

5. Tie another piece of rope to the ladder in a suitable place where it won't interfere

with use of the exit ladder in an emergency, or stow it near the stair's power unit, to

facilitate lifting the ladder to its' stowed position after use. Not shown on this rawing.

6. Test the whole system and ensure it works in an acceptable way.
