Dear Sir or Madam, The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges on January 22, 2016 at the Austin Convention Center. The Battle of the Badges is an event where local law enforcement will challenge local firefighters (reigning title holders) in a USA Boxing sanctioned event. Our brave men and women will battle it out in the ring and lay it all on the line for charity. Fundraising efforts will benefit Partnerships for Children, an organization devoted to providing Child Protective Services’ caseworkers with the resources that they need to better serve the kids in our community. The inaugural event brought together more than 2,500 spectators and countless volunteers to raise money for charity and enjoy a night of incredible entertainment. Spectators enjoyed 16 action‐packed bouts where the Austin Fire Department and the Travis County ESD’s dominated by winning 11 of the 16 bouts, leaving the Law Enforcement team eager to earn the title in 2016. We raised over $22,000 to donate to our benefactors. We are coming together again to make it bigger and better, so mark your calendars and get your seat!
