ahaà kratur ahaà yajïaù svadhäham aham auñadhammantro 'ham aham eväjyam aham agnir ahaà hutam

It is I who am the ritual, I the sacrifice, the offering to the ancestors, the healing herb, the transcendental chant. I am the butter and the fire and the offering. [Bhagavad-gita 9.16]

tad-vijïänärthaà sa gurum eväbhigacchetsamit-päëiù çrotriyaà brahma-niñöham

To understand these things properly, one must humbly approach, with firewood in hand, a spiritual master who is learned in the Vedas and firmly devoted to the Absolute Truth. [Muëòaka Upaniñad 1.2.12]

man-manä bhava mad-bhakto mad-yäjé mäà namaskurumäm evaiñyasi satyaà te pratijäne priyo 'si me

Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend. [Bhagavad-gita 18.65]

naiñä tarkeëa matir äpaneyäproktänyenaiva su-jïänäya preñöha

This realization, my dear boy, cannot be acquired by logic. It must be spoken by an exceptionally qualified spiritual master to a knowledgeable disciple. [Kaöha Upaniñad 2.9]
