1.0 INTRODUCTION
This manual describes the installation and operating instructions of FIRESCAN
Auxiliary Control Unit (ACU).
The Auxiliary Control Unit (ACU) is designed to interface with FIRESCAN Release
Control Panel (RCP) and or other type of Fire Detection and Suppression Release
Panels using a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) microprocessor to perform video
post-recording (record up to 3 cameras) of fire events and to provide remote video
surveillance of the protected premises with emergency auto dial-out ability to 3 pre-
programmed telephone numbers informing fire outbreak through pre- recorded
messages. The unit can be easily installed and connected to all types of Fire /
Release Control Panels.
When a fire event occurs, the ACU will receive an alarm signal from the Release
Control Panel and it will activate as follows:
a) Commence video recording of the respective fire zone for 30 seconds.
b) Commence emergency dail-out to 1st pre -programmed number and play pre -
recorded SOS voice messages twice when connection is through.
c) Repeat emergency dial-out for 2nd & 3rd pre-programmed numbers.
d) Wait for call in.
