Elements of Fire
• Enough oxygen to sustain combustion,
• Enough heat to raise the material to its ignition temperature,
• Some sort of fuel or combustible material, and
• The chemical, exothermic reaction that is fire.
Four things must be present at the same time to produce fire. They are:

FIRE PREVENTION IN KITCHEN
1. Don’t leave cooking food unattended.2. Keep matches and lighters away from the children.3. Keep appliances serviced, clean and in good repair.4. Never use water to put out grease fire instead smother
the fire with wet towel or cloth.5. Unplug electric appliances when not in use.6. Don’t place other materials and chemicals near the
stove.7. Make sure that the smoke detectors are working
properly.
1. Don’t use extension cords permanently.2. Keep the electric fans away from the curtains. 3. Don’t try to use defective appliances and immediately repair them.4. Make sure that the pot of rice cooker is dry before placing it on the
heater.
