Installing the Fire Extinguisher Inspection App on Your Android Smartphone

If you already have the barcode scanning app installed on your Android Smartphone you can just scan the QR_code image to the right and you will be taken to the Fire Extinguisher Inspection app directly.

Otherwise search for the Fire Extinguisher Inspection app in the Android Marketplace.

Very Simple Application Configuration

Configuring the app is a simple matter of entering your name, used as the inspector in reports, and an email

address to send reports to. Additional email addresses can be included when

sending the report.

The Server URL and password fields are only used if you want to manage inspection data from the web. This

option requires registration at www.aridhio.com

Add a New Facility

Each time you inspect a new facility you can add information

about that facility.

When visiting a facility that you have previously inspected, it can be selected from a dropdown list.

Select “Inspect a Fire Extinguisher” and you are on your

way.


Start Inspecting Fire ExtinguishersA serial # or other barcode ID is used to track the unit. Select scan and point the phone’s camera at the barcode.

The first time that the barcode ID is scanned, enter the fire extinguisher’s size, type, year of manufacture. On subsequent inspections, scanning automatically recalls this data.

Location barcode can also be scanned.


Start Inspecting Fire Extinguishers

The “Basic” button is for NFPA10 monthly inspection data.

The “Detailed” button is for maintenance /service activities.

Monthly inspections can be carried out with a checklist

style entry with a place to also capture inspector comments.

Ideally, the fire extinguisher service company will also have access to the data and service

can be scheduled automatically if warranted.

Inspection results are emailed in two formats. An formatted XML file that can be nicely printed as-is (shown below), and a CSV format. A web based option supports

PDF and number of other formats.


View Inspection Data Online

Fire extinguisher inspection data can be managed online. Results are automatically uploaded and can be viewed in a number of summary and detailed views.


Generate Reports in Several Different Formats

The web based option supports access to inspection results, facility inventory or the maintenance history and report generation in a

number of formats including PDF, MS Excel, plain text, CSV and MS Word.

This report is for the detailed inspection history of a specified

fire extinguisher.

This report contains results of all inspections and maintenance for

one extinguisher.


View Facility Inventory Online

For a given facility, you can view the inventory of fire extinguishers. For any of the fire extinguishers, can then

view its inspection and maintenance / service history.


Manage who has direct web access to your inspection data

Grant permissions for your team to have web access and report generation capabilities.

Specific reports can always be generated and sent to anyone that you do not want to grant direct web access to.
