To make this mathematical pillow you will need:- Felt White: 40cmx90cmLight Blue: 10cmx40cmDark Green: 20cmx40cmLime Green: 20cmx40cmRed: x1 A4 piecePink: x1 A4 pieceCream: x1 A4 piece8- Black buttons: x2- Craft or PVA Glue- Sewing Machine with matching thread- Hand Sewing needle & matching thread- Fabric & Craft scissors- Dressmaking Pins- Sharpie Pen- Paint brush with tray (for glue)- Chopstick or pointing/stuffing tool- Polyester toy stuffing (e.g. Hobby Fill)

Instructions:1. Begin by printing off the pattern from 3and3quarters.net (Search: Finn The

Human) and read through the instructions before starting. Alternatively, you can watch the tutorial on my YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/oB5S2-6sCfY

2. Cut the template pieces out along the outer lines using craft scissors.3. Pin the templates to the correct coloured felt as stated on them. If the template

piece says PLACE ON THE FOLD, simply fold the piece of felt in half, place the edge of the template with the arrows along the fold and pin in place. (Do not cut along the folded edge).

4. Carefully cut around each shape using fabric scissors. Take the pins out and place the pieces to one side. (NOTE: The easiest way to cut out FINN’S TEETH is to trace around the pattern piece three times with a Sharpie pen, then carefully cut each one out.)

5. TO MAKE THE FRONT: take ONE of the FINN’S HAT felt pieces along with FINN’S FACE, MOUTH, TONGUE, TEETH and the two black buttons. Place the cream face piece on top of the white hat piece in a slightly off-center position. Next, place on the two buttons with a large space in between. Add the mouth, placing the tongue and teeth on top. Refer to the picture for correct placement of these pieces.

6. Next, take the light blue FINN’S T-SHIRT piece and place it along the bottom of the hat piece.

7. Once you’re happy with how the face & t-shirt pieces are positioned, glue each piece on to FINN’S HAT, starting with the t-shirt piece. Then glue the tongue and teeth onto the mouth piece, the mouth piece to the cream face piece and finally the face piece to the hat piece. Using a hand needle and matching thread, stitch the buttons in place.

8. OPTIONAL STEP: If you feel confident, slowly topstitch around the edges of each piece on Finn’s face as well as along the top of the t-shirt with a sewing machine and matching thread. This will give the pillow a nicer finish.

9. TO MAKE THE BACK: take the other piece of FINN’S HAT along with the three pieces that make up FINN’S BACKPACK. Place the lime green piece on top of the hat piece followed by the dark green strip piece and circle piece. Refer to the picture for correct placement of these pieces.

10. Once you’re happy with how the backpack pieces are positioned, glue each piece down, starting with the lime green piece and then the darker ones.

11. OPTIONAL STEP: If you feel confident, slowly topstitch around the edges of each piece on Finn’s backpack with a sewing machine and matching thread.

12. BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER: Place the two hat pieces together with the face and backpack sides facing each other. Place pins all along the outside edge, leaving a 10cm gap along one of the shorter sides.

13. Starting on one side of the 10cm gap, make a small back stitch and then slowly sew around the whole edge of the pillow using a 0.5cm seam allowance on the sewing machine. Take the pins out as you sew along. Once you come to the other side of the 10cm gap, make a small backstitch and remove the pillow from the sewing machine.

14. Carefully clip the corners and make little snips in the seam allowance at the curved areas at the top of Finn’s hat. (This will help the curves sit flat when you pull the pillow out the right way.)

15. Slowly pull the pillow inside out through the 10cm gap. Use the chopstick or pointing tool to open out the corners and curved seams.

16. Once Finn is pulled out the right way, generously stuff him with toy stuffing starting at the top of his head.

17. When he is at your desired softness, take a hand-sewing needle and matching thread and slipstitch the 10cm gap closed.

18. Place Finn in your favourite reading spot and love him forever!
