A welcome/information evening for parents and students wishing to enrol in

Year 7 2018 will be

held on Wednesday

14th June at 5:30pm,

in the school hall. It

will be an opportunity

to meet Mr Clark, the

of the school. The evening will commence with an orientation of the school followed by a brief presentation and meet

and greet. We welcome Year 6 students to attend this information evening with their parents.

School Attendance

Attendance is one area of focus this year, with a recent highlight being the increasing number of students arriving late to

school. Arriving at school and class on time is very important and helps:

• Ensure that students do not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day

• Students learn the importance of punctuality and routine

• Students to have time to socialise and interact with their peers

• Reduce classroom disruption.

Please be aware that lateness is recorded as a partial absence, which needs to be explained by parents. Your

assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Winter Round Robin

Our local schools Winter Round Robin was held last Friday. By all reports the students had a great time playing

the sports on offer as well as mixing with students from other schools. Thank you to Miss Ackers for organising

our students to attend this event.

Fun Run – This Friday

Our Stamp Out SIDS Fun Run will be held, this Friday 16th June. Students are asked to participate and bring

along a donation to help raise awareness for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The run will start at 1:30, down

at the Lake, so please feel welcome to come along and encourage our students. Hairspray, lolly bags and jelly

will be on sale at recess.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is held in the first full week of July. It is a time to celebrate

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an

opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to

our country and our society. We encourage all Australians to participate in the

celebrations and activities that take place across the nation during NAIDOC

Week. As this celebration is during our school holidays, we will be holding our

NAIDOC activity day during Week 10. Further details will follow in the coming

weeks.

Student Debating Teams

Our Debating Teams will be debating this Wednesday and Friday, via video conference. Our squad members are:

Stephanie B, Josie C, Morgan E, Charlotte H, Claire I, Ryan M, Dakota P, and Mikayla S. I wish our teams all the

very best, however I know they will do well as they have been preparing for quite a number of weeks. Good

luck and best wishes as I know it can be difficult undertaking public speaking activities via video conference.

Finally, please feel welcome to come along to our K-6 Assembly, which will be held this Friday 16th June.

Have a great week.
