A clean, modern aesthetic and restrained color palette create an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication in the room shown at right. Inspired by classic Dunbar style, the Cadden Cutaway Scroll-Arm Sofa and Chair share swept-back arms and sculptural profiles that display an undeniable mid-century panache. Both the Beekman Nesting Cocktail Tables and matching Side Table have a glistening contemporary look thanks to a painted Jet finish and inset tops of mirrored Eglomisé glass; close at hand for entertaining, the smaller cocktail tables tuck neatly under the larger until needed. ABOVE | The turned legs and rounded stretchers of the Chelsea Painted Console Table are minimally adorned, and its apron deftly conceals two drawers with finger pulls so that no hardware interrupts its sleek surfaces.

Softened by supple lines and warm colors, this living room is amiable and inviting. The Winslow English Tight-Back Sofa features curves both subtle and defined, from the long, easy bow of the tight-upholstered back to the accentuated scroll of the slender arms. With slim profiles and refined dimensions, this ensemble—while generous in size—leaves the surrounding room feeling spacious and airy. The Sutton Sheraton Dining Table, while influenced by the work of the master cabinet-maker, is distinctly modern in its simplicity. At its beveled corners, slender double-legs are positioned at the table’s outer edge, leaving the underside completely free from obstruction. A contrasting veneer borders its fancy-face mahogany top, finished in velvety Bordelaise. Thin backs give the Sutton Upholstered Armchair and Side Chair their chic silhouettes, upholstered here in an elegant combination of tonal leather and fabric. The Sutton Fretwork China Cabinet displays trim grilles that underscore the room’s geometry.

ABOVE | With a shape inspired by an open bookcase of Martha’s, the Sutton Breakfront Sideboard has lines and angles that play beautifully off its companion pieces. ABOVE | Reminiscent of a classic Hitchcock chair, the North River Turned Armchair is remark-able for the assembly of intricate turnings that make up its arms, legs, seat, and back. The inset box cushion can be upholstered in any of our plush fabrics to harmonize with surrounding décor.

An eclectic mix of light and dark finishes gives the antique-inspired pieces in this congenial room a fresh energy. On the French Country-style North River Round Dining Table, a cathedral-grain cherry veneer glows under a lustrous Brandywine finish. For effortless family-style service, it can be topped with the matching North River Lazy Susan. The North River Turned Armchair and Side Chair provide a pleasing contrast painted in Ebony; they are also available in Brandywine for a more traditional grouping. The pairing of elaborate turnings with pristine cabinetry helps this welcoming bedroom achieve perfect balance. The Tea Leaf-finished North River Four-Poster Bed features a carefully turned blanket rail and posts, as well as a smooth cap rail along the top of the fancy-face head-board. It can be configured with four tall posts in traditional style, or its foot posts can be removed to create a low footboard profile, as shown at right. Beside it, the North River Bachelor’s Chest provides the contrast of pure, Shaker-inspired lines. A concave front offsets the roomy North River Landscape Dresser, while trim detailing in white gold leaf is the sole embellishment on the clean North River Mirror.

This bedroom group celebrates simplicity. With its immaculate lines and deep, cool Tea Leaf finish, the North River Pencil Post Bed is strikingly clean and pure. Tapering, pencil-thin posts rise high into the air, topped by tester rails that may be draped with a canopy or removed entirely. The posts rest upon austere block-foot bases, and the bed frame sits low to accommodate standard or luxury mattresses. Alongside it, the North River Nightstand is distinguished by a front that curves gently inward, a detail inspired by a piece in Martha’s Maine retreat; it also boasts graceful turn-ings and a veneered top, all finished in Tea Leaf.
