President’s Perspective
Wow – summer flew by and now it’s
September! Hopefully we’ll still have nice
weather for a while yet.
President’s Perspective
President’s Perspective: Wow – summer flew
by and now it’s September! Hopefully we’ll
still have nice weather for a while yet.
The club resuscitated an old tradition with its
summer picnic/BBQ on August 4 at Marcellus
Park. Forty-four people attended, and it was
great. We got rained out about 8:30pm, but that
was enough time for many of us to catch up
with each other. Some of us also got together
on July 13 for a Doubledays game, and again
for music and a movie in Hoopes Park on July
18. We enjoyed Mark Doyle and the Maniacs,
then saw “Trolls.”
Looking forward to the fall, we are planning a
road/photo rally at some point but don’t have a
date yet. Stay tuned. Our club’s famous season
kick-off meeting and party is scheduled for
7:30pm on Tuesday, October 3 at the Knights

President’s Perspective
We’re having a last taste of summer
before we turn “full-on” fall and
start looking forward to another ski
season. Our club’s kick-off
meeting/party is planned for Tuesday, October
3rd. All are invited at 730pm. It’s a great time to
eat, drink, renew memberships,
and chat with old friends.
If you are planning to buy a
Song/Lab season pass or 8-pack,
please do so through the club
this year. In this way, our club gets “credit” for
bringing people to the mountains. Pass your
form with payment to me before October 5
(prices go up October 7). I’ll collect them and
send them all together to Song for processing.
Read more in the newsletter about upcoming
activities like happy hours and the Warren
Miller flick on November 21. You can sign up
for our awesome long weekender to Mont
Tremblant in Quebec too!

Road Rally Recap FLSC took a break last year, but the Road Rally was back with a
vengeance this fall! Kelly Buck organized a combined road / photo
course that started in Auburn and ended in Seneca Falls. Twenty-five
people competed in 10 teams on a gorgeous October afternoon.
After driving the road part for about 20 miles, teams picked up sheets
with photos taken around the village of Seneca Falls. They had to find all
the shots. Upon completion, everyone gathered at The Gould hotel bar for drinks and dinner.
Everyone did a Great Job!
Congratulations to the 5 teams that won cash prizes:
First Place – tie: Insanity Reigns (Tina and Kevin Barry, Tracy Fitch)
DeeDeeWeez (Louise Wilson and DeeDee)
Second Place: From Chaos (Siobhan O’Hora, Tim Leaf, Chris Anderson)
Third Place – tie: SAC (Carol MacKenzie, Al Weller, Sylvia Wilson)
Obergurgl Girls (Keek Bellen, Barb Clark, Judy Fero)
Special Thank you to Kelly Buck!! Kelly created a well-designed and very intricate Road
Rally course that kept the teams on their toes looking for each clue. It was a blast! The entire
day was organized so well, it showed us the passion that Kelly has for the FLSC!
Thank you Kelly!
