HONGDA is a private taxi and limousine service company serving in and around Shenzhen city.

They own a fleet of more than 50 cars including limousines, SUVs, sedans, coaches, etc. They

offer low cost, yet reliable transportation service for foreigners who come here as tourists or

business delegates and for high profile executives. The company had planned to expand its

fleet, but wanted to streamline their operations to ensure that their excellent customer service

record remains unaffected.

Solution:

HONGDA chose EELINKTECH’s GPS car tracking devices and GPS tracker software to

monitor vehicle utilization on and after work hours, mileage discrepancies, save on fuel wastage

and prevent break downs.

“Without the GPS vehicle positioning, our expansion project would have been in a quandary by

Results:

HONGDA says that since installing EELINKTECH’s GPS support system, they’ve managed to

save more than $5000 every year only by controlling unauthorized driver activity. We can now

make sure at all times that our drivers are at work and not idling away. The tracker has also

helped the company to locate a driver’s position if he isn’t responding to a call. For instance, if a

driver does not answer a call, the operations assistant can track the vehicle and identify

location. The tracker also allows the company to remotely control the vehicle. The GPS vehicle

tracking device plays in real time and can be played back. This is very useful as it helps us

identify about what a vehicle was doing only seconds before an accident. “We’ve been able to

monitor risky driving behavior among our drivers and have also taken action against those

guilty. And in some circumstances, when customers have wrongly accused of speeding or other

rash behavior, the tracking system has allowed to avoid penalty,” adds the fleet manager.

chose us as their transportation partner for a prestigious event only because they could log in to

our tracking system to monitor vehicles. HONGDA has also managed to control preventable

accidents through the collision alarm that sets off when a vehicle is about to hit

someone/something. Initially, HONGDA did not implement the GPS tracking system for their

entire fleet, but later on when they were assured about the obvious benefits, they extended the

solution to their entire fleet of old and newly acquired vehicles.

Another important and straightforward impact was on fuel costs. With improved tracking, the

transportation company could save around 3-5% of their fuel expenses. Drivers who used to

earlier waste fuel while on duty are now unable to do so. The system keeps track of every little

activity- from the time a vehicle starts and right up to the time a vehicle reaches its promised

destination.
