The Finance club 2013-2014

The begining of 2013-2014 academic year marked the

start of the second year of activities and events in the

Finance club. Thank you all for your support during our first

steps!Being an inexperienced organisation with little history,

we are glad to have the support of a university with

traditions while we work with leading businesses and non-

profit organisations! It is importnat for us not only todevelop ourselves but also to help our colleagues find their

talents and realise their potential. This is why we focus on

public events open to all students. Following are some

highlights of our activities during the semester.

The event was the first of its

kind in Bulgaria. There was a wide

participation from foreign and bulgarian students as well

as from professionals in the field of business.

Finance club

According to the charter a new board has beenelected:

As chairmanViktoriya Stancheva;

As the vice-chairmanSevel Ismail; As the secretaryIglika Slavcheva;

The new board also includes Nikolay Mitev,Yordan Georgiev, Petar Bodurov and assoc. Prof. Dr.Dimitar Rafailov.

16th-17th of November Debates and

debating skills

The event was organised in collaboration with the

Association Sofia Debaters.

18th of November Discussion on the topic

of Saving banks from going under

During the discussion the members in the club

considered the advantages and the disadvantages of

rescuing banks.

25th of November public debate For and

against the saving of banks

The event is the first of its kind in the

University of EconomicsVarna and there

was wide participation from both students

and lecturers.

Students had the chance to share their

inspirational ideas with their colleagues

as well as to practice their skills in

public speaking.

the audience his wide experience

in the field of entrepreneurship.

10th of December Meeting with Nina Todorova,

expert in the HR department in ProCredit Bank

The focus was on the programmeYoung Bankerand the

possibilities for future collaboration between the bank and

the club.
