I. Venue
The final GEF Global workshop will take place at
KRAVAN Meeting Room of Angkor Paradise

You can pick up your name tag and program materials at the registration desk in front of
KRAVAN Meeting room, Angkor Paradise Hotel from 8:00-9:00 AM on 25 March 2019.

by 20 March 2019 and then when if you there is any change on your slides, please make
sure to submit and confirm the final version of your slides before the workshop.

Airport Taxi Service
Please take Taxi; The price for a taxi ride is usually a flat rate, between 40,000 Riel and 60,000
Riel, around 10-15 US Dollars. One of the important ways to stay safe when taking taxis in Siem
Reap is by asking all the important questions before you get in the taxi, and all the drivers can
speak English.

Visa information
Participants are responsible for obtaining their own entry and/or transit visa(s) to Cambodia, if
required. All participants must travel with passport with a minimum validity of 6 months, counted
from the date of entry into the country. In Case your country doesn’t have Cambodia Embassy,
you can apply Visa on the arrival.
Accommodation and Hotel Information
All participant will be made booking at the Hotel by UNITAR, which includes a standard room
with breakfast from 24 to 28 of March 2019, depending on the participant’s arrival and
departure ticket. For UNEP/UNITAR has been paid directly for all participants.
From 25 to 26 March lunch and coffee-breaks are included, and will be provided by the Hotel
Any extras, such as telephone, room upgrade, bar, laundry, restaurant, etc., are at participant
own cost and must be settled upon checking out. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer.

1. Angkor Wat Temple
Angkor Wat, in its beauty and state of preservation, is unrivaled. Its mightiness and magnificence
bespeak a pomp and a luxury surpassing that of a Pharaoh or a Shah Jahan, an impressiveness
greater than that of the Pyramids, an artistic distinctiveness as fine as that of the Taj Mahal.
Angkor Wat is located about six kilometers (four miles) north of Siem Reap, south of Angkor
Thom. Entry and exit to Angkor Wat can only be access from its west gate.
1. Angkor Thom Temple
Angkor Thom is an almost square city surrounded by 8-meter-high walls a little over 12 kilometers long
with five impressive gopura gates providing access to the city. The city’s name translates to “large city”
or “great city”.

2. Phnom Bakheng (Bakheng Mountain)
Phnom Bakheng is located 1,30 meters (4,265 feet) north of Angkor Wat and 400 meters (1,312
feet) south of Angkor Thom. It was nice view in the sunset.1

Weather
Cambodia has 2 seasons, they are rainy season and dry season, on 24-28 March is dry
season, it is a good time to visit Siem Reap Angkor. The average weather conditions in
Siem Reap in March are 25℃-34℃.
Official Language
The main spoken language is Khmer, and official used is English.
Currency
Cambodia’s official monetary unit is the Riel which it consists of a one hundred until fifty
thousand riel or One hundred thousand riel; US Dollars will also be accepted. The rate is
1 US dollar is roughly equivalent to 4,050 Riel.
Electricity and Voltage
The standard voltage in Cambodia is 220 volts
