Energy ContraptionContrivance1. Objectives: Contraption helps to conserve energy by converting one form to another.

2. Final task:Switch on the bulb.3. Compulsory Steps: Use of at least one and at most 3 Non-conventional energy resources. After 3, every non-conventional energy conversion will be given 10 points. If any of the previous non-conventional steps are repeated then they will be given 5 points. 4. Bonus steps: a. Use of attractive property of a magnet. b. Making use of a jet of water to actuate the further circuit. (It should be essentially a jet. Water in the form of sprinkles, droplets etc will not be considered.) 5. Rules and regulations:-

The dimension of space provided will be (l*b*h) 5ft*6ft*6ft. The total time taken for the task should not exceed 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, 1 point per second will be deducted from the total score. In the first trial, before the fourth hand touch one would be given choice to go for fourth hand touch or to go for second trial. In case of second trial 3 hand touches will be allowed. Further average of two trials will be considered. If you prefer to go for fourth hand touch in the first trial, total of five hand touches will be allowed and score after fifth hand touch will be considered as your final score. Hand touch is not allowed for bonus step. If there is a hand touch in bonus step, Bonus score for that step will not be considered. For each of first three hand touches 10 marks will be deducted. For fourth and fifth hand touch 20 marks will be deducted for each. Team will be disqualified for more than five hand touches. All energy conversions don't carry equal weightage. Following is the distribution.Sound (10 pts), Magnetic (10 pts), Light (10 pts), Electrical or Electronic (10 pts), Mechanical (8 pts), Chemical (8 pts). Use of explosives is not allowed. Only a 230V/50Hz electric supply will be provided to each team. Judges & organizers decision will be final and binding to all. Failing to initiate the contraption when asked by the organizers may lead to the disqualification of the team for that trial. All the participating teams should submit a detailed abstract of their contraption as per the following format: Total no of steps Number of distinct energy conversions along with the details of type (form) of energy conversion. Innovative steps claimed. Details of compulsory steps. Detail explanation of bonus steps (if any). You can make sketches, Flowcharts to explain any step. All the participants must bring at least 3 copies of their abstract during the contraptions event.

6. Team Structure: Each team can have a maximum of 4 participants. Students from any engineering discipline (B.Tech. / BE /Diploma) can participate.

7. Entry fees:

Rs. 100/- per team.

8. Note: What do I have to bring? What will the organizers provide? Following items will be made available at venue: 220 volts A.C. supply Extension cords 9. Prizes: 1st prize- 4500/- Rs Runner up-2500/-Rs

Unfair Practices Subject to Disqualification

1.Team members may communicate verbally if they are alive in the match or when all team members are dead.2.Any competitor who has died cannot communicate by ANY means (No gesture or verbal communication will be allowed) with any other team member or opponent until the beginning of the next round.3.If a competitor continues to communicate after he/she is killed, the team may be given a warning or lose by default at the SERVER MASTERs sole discretion.4.Binding Duck to scroll wheel is not allowed.5.Use of personal model/skins are not allowed (includes weapon skins).6.Use of personal map texture are not allowed. 7.All cheat programs are not allowed.8.Two warnings will be given for the use of abusive languages in the gaming premises after which a team gets disqualified.

If disconnection occurs during a match:

1.If all the competitors cannot play due to an unintended, unforeseen accident such as server stoppage Before the 3rd round starts: restart the match After the 3rd round starts: Disconnected competitor must reconnect to the server. The round is continued unpausing, and if the disconnected competitor cannot connect to the server, all competitors must wait during the freeze time after the round until the disconnected competitor connects to the server. At this time, the match may continue by unpausing. (Not a restart)2.If up to 3 of all competitors are unintentionally disconnected: The score for that round is discarded. The game is paused after the round during the freeze time, and all competitors wait until the disconnected competitors are connected to the server. When all competitors are connected, the match may continue by unpausing the game.3.In the case of intentional disconnection, the SERVER MASTER may decide to end the match with the offending team losing by forfeit.

Note:

If any player joins to opponent team then game will not be restarted and its player's fault
