Final selection of Photographs for ancillary work

For my ancillary work( digipak and advertisement) I have take several pictures, which I could potentially use. I decided to plan Photo Shoots before I was going to start editing the images on Photo shop. I took the time and effort when taking these photographs rather than just screen grabbing moments in my music video. One of the previous photo shoots was held in Alexandra palace which took place during production stage and the most recent Photo shoot was held in a photography studio with a friend of mine who studies photography.

Why I chose these photographs?

I chose to use these photographs as I’ve used a variety of shot lengths from medium close ups to long shots, I believe this is a good way of promoting the artist as well as the audience being able to see the clothes the artist is shown wearing. In addition, the framing in these photographs are done well which enables me to think of the layout for when I add text on top of the image. The photographs also relate to my music video. For example on the outside cover there are closer shots of the artist shown in the location I was for my music video which shows a link of synergy. The pictures used for the advertisement and inside panels have a pink filter which links to the theme colour I chose. I have also creaked an effects of light coloured circles which relates to the glowing candle, as the candle is used as a prop in my music video to represent love. Finally, I believe these photographs of myself are appropriate to portray an artist in the making, as real as possible. My posture , body language, eye line and facial expression convey happiness and draws the audience in to the artist.
