This rubric was created to evaluate “an oral performance”. The idea is to measure speaking.

School: Liceo Comercial de Tomé (Public highschool)

Grade: 1st Medio.

Level of English: Lower

Rubric for an oral performance

Score Vocabulary Grammar Pronunciation4 Speaker always uses the vocabulary

learnt in class correctly. Grammatical structures are always use appropriately by the students.

Speaker pronounces all words well producing an intelligible speech.

3 Speaker does not always use the vocabulary learnt in class correctly.

Grammatical structures are use appropriately in most sentences. The speaker makes some mistakes.

Speaker pronounces most words well, but pronounces some words incorrectly.

2 Speaker uses other vocabulary, but fails to use the vocabulary learnt in class.

Grammatical structures are sometimes use appropriately by the speaker, but speaker makes many mistakes.

Speaker mispronounces several words and communication is sometimes interrupted due to pronunciation.

1 Vocabulary is very limited or irrelevant. Completely different from the vocabulary learnt in class.

Speaker shows poor use of basic grammatical structures.

Speaker mispronounces most of the words and communication is often interrupted due to errors.
