Scrumblr
Scrumblr is a new site that provides an online space to create and share sticky
notes with a group. Scrumblr can be used by anyone to quickly create an online
space for sharing stickies. To use, go to www.scrumblr.ca
Educational Use
Online sticky note services like Scrumblr are useful for brainstorming sessions in which
students can quickly share a bunch of ideas with each other. The anonymous online
format enables shy students to share their ideas without fear of criticism from other
group members.
More Info
• Scrumblr sticky notes are limited to text only• The board you create can be divided into
columns that you label – the maximum number of columns allowed is 8. You add notes to each by dragging them under the corresponding column. Optionally you can
add a colored dot to each note; this can help prioritize the tasks
Protection
• Since the site doesn’t offer usernames or passwords, each Scrumblr page is open for the
world to edit• Remember to protect your own identity and
the identities of your students!
Scrumblr = simple and easy to use!I mean, really, who doesn’t like
simple and easy?

• The font used on the site resembles that of natural handwriting
• It is a user-friendly web service• Lets you easily manage tasks• Provides a virtual notice board
• Your notice board gets a public URL• You can divide the board into labeled columns
• Tasks can be added to each column• Colored dots can be used to prioritize tasks

This site is a great resource for both teachers and parents. It is full of lesson plan ideas, printouts,
and interactive games (sorted by grade level and topic) for the students to play. It also has different
strategies that a teacher can use in their classroom, along with a list professional
development seminars a teacher can attend online. This site also includes resources for

Educational Use
This site is centered around education! Teachers can utilize the lesson plans,
interactives, and printouts for their students to use. Teachers can also apply any classroom
strategies they find useful
Site Navigation
The site is very organized, user-friendly, and easy to navigate. The site can be navigated by
grade level (K-12), resource type (lesson plans, student interactives, calendar activities, or
printouts), learning objectives (such as phonemic awareness or multicultural
awareness), or theme (such as social action or drama)
Lesson Plans
• The lesson plans and thematic unit ideas are very well-developed
• Content standards can very easily be identified in the lessons
• All are categorized by grade chunks• If you’re creative, you can take an idea or one
individual plan, and turn it into multiple lesson plans or a thematic unit
Professional Development
• Read, Write Think lists seminars you can attend both in-person and online
• The site also contains a Professional Library, which contains books, journals, and other
publications that can help teachers learn and grow at their own pace. These articles are full of tools, ideas, and suggestions you can use in
your own classroom
Parents
• Parents can find activities, projects, games, tools, tips, printouts, and podcasts created with them in
mind• All suggestions are fun, educational, and easy to
use outside of school. These suggestions can be used as a supplement to what the child is learning in school, or would be fun to complete during the
summer • All resources listed in this section can also be
helpful for teachers to use in their classroom
