Every since 2005, I have volunteered my time and services to help St. Philips AME Zion Church. In the Summer time, my family’s church services the unfortunate and under privilege people in the community. On this day, we feed the community hot dogs, games, and music. This event lasts for 4-5 hours and this is a way that we connect to the people, give back to the community and they can learn about my family’s church.

INTRODUCTION

The Power

The Power of God is that ability and strength where by he can bring pass what so ever he pleases, what so ever his infinite wisdom may direct, and what so ever the infinite purity of will may resolve.

23

THE POWER AND PURPOSE First of all, let me make it perfectly clear that the power of a praying wife is not a means of control over your husband. It’s laying down all claim to power in and of yourself, and relying on God’s power to transform you, and your husband, family, and your circumstances.

It’s a gentle tool of restoration appropriated through the prayers of a wife who longs to do right more than be right. It’s a way to invite God’s power into your husband’s life for his blessing, which is ultimately yours too.

The power of prayer and having a mentor in my life has given me direction. I can honestly say I know my purpose in life.

Everyone has purpose. It’s the reason why we exist. It’s our life’s mission, objective, or plan. Generally, we’re here to glorify God and do will his will.

When you discover your purpose that God has for you, and you are doing what God has created you to do, becoming what God has created you to be, you will find fulfillment. God is a God of perfect timing. There is time for everything, the Bible says. The timing to do what God has called each of you to do will work out perfectly, if its submitted to God.

24

BE INSPIRED I hope that this slide presentation inspires you to be and do your best in life. Whether your destiny is to be a great leader to nations or a great leader in your community. Be inspired to be great!

I dare you to be your best at all times. I encourage you to have an compassionate heart to others. I hope that you could serve your churches , and communities, and the people in need.

When inspired we gain “fresh eyes” so we see what is truly important, and what really matters. The future becomes one of exciting possibilities; we have the power to overcome the barriers and limitations that have been holding us back.

Getting inspired is a personal choice; it up to you and where your happiness lies. My happiness lies in helping others in need. I know my purpose on this earth.

See I chose to be inspired by Pastor Mary D. McKenzie. I chose to be inspired by an awesome woman of God. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is truly respected by her peers and highly favored in the community.

25

BE INSPIRED Anointing fall on me is a self-entitled piece that is dear to my heart. The main objective of this paper is to show that when you surround yourself with positive people and trusting in God. God will abundantly and exceedingly do all that he promised, according to the gospel. In believing this, only good things can prosper in my life. The mentor that pours countless blessings into my life is Pastor Mary D. McKenzie. The Dictionary’s definition of a role leader is a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people(Houghton, 2005).

A role model is someone that is well respected and admired (Sherifield, 2011). Well truth is told she is all that and more. She is an awesome woman of God. She is a servant at heart and has exemplified her service through various ministries of Faith Assembly Christian Center.

Pastor Mary D. McKenzie, I know personally because she married me and my husband on September 10, 2011. She and her husband, Bishop Leroy McKenzie III have 38 years of marriage and have been the senior pastors at FACC for 18 years. She is the mother of three children and a Grandmother of seven. Pastor McKenzie is a great teacher on the purpose and the power of love and marriage. She has lived it with her husband until God called him home in 2012 and she still carries the torch on in his absent. She is anointed woman of God.

26

BE INSPIRED I hope that my marriage can sustain such longevity. I pray that I could have half the beauty and grace that Pastor McKenzie has inside and out. She has the presence that lights a room when she smiles.

I admire her and in all ways hope to be where she is in Christ. I enjoy her teachings and knowing that she will correct me when I am wrong in my choices. It is a humbling experience to me because it feels good knowing that someone cares and wants what best for you , your family, and your marriage. She keeps me grounded and is pleased to see me and my husband grow in Christ.

Her greatest joy is too see people saved, delivered, and set free from bondages. Pastor’s Mary D. McKenzie desire is to worship the Father, increase in faith, and produce fruit for the Kingdom of God.

27

EXCELLENCE

EXCELLENCE is a talent or quality which is usually good

&

So surpasses ordinary standards

28

WALL OF EXCELLENCE

The following is a brief list of her accomplishments:

*Founder of God’s Complete Woman Pageant and Women’s Conference- an annual event where Christian women showcase their godly gifts. The purpose for the conference is for women to be healed, delivered, set free and to be who God created them to be. Business and ministries have been birthed as a result of the pageant and conference.

*Founder of Destiny Land- once a month this is a time for children, ages 3-18, to play in a safe environment for a few hours while their parents have free time. Children enjoy food, fun, and games.

*Founder of Women’s Talk- once a month women in the ministry and in the community come together to discuss current issue affecting women.

*Founder of City-Wide Prayer- this takes place the Friday after Thanksgiving. The ministry and the community come together to pray for our nation, state, city officials, families, and our youth.

29

MY LEADERSHIP QUALITIES My personal strengths as a leader as a leader is committed. Being that my husband is the minister of music. He is very active in our Church. As I follow his walk, I pay close attention to his time management. Being a leader you must use your time productively.

Being that I am a leader in my Church. My personal strengths as a leader is to have a passion for the cause that is larger than they are. A leader without a passion will not make the necessary courageous and difficult decisions and carry them into action.

This is not to imply that all decisions are of this nature. But you can be sure; some of them will be. A leader without a passion for a cause will duck.

I have gained a lot on information on this assessment. I have a better understanding of my objectives in life and my career. I look forward and is excited about my future!!!

30

CONCLUSION

* Keep yourself surrounded by positive people. Positive people will encourage you to do better. Positive thinking people will inspire you to help someone and they will help you in your time of need.

How can you love God and not love his people? God is love. God will open the hardest of hearts and conform it to love.

*God loves for us for who we are, not for what we do. Our value to God is found in the unique relationship he can enjoy with each one of us because our personality makes us relate to God like no one else.

*God delights in us for being spontaneous, fun-loving, serious, sentimental, compassionate, intellectual, or whatever makes us who we are. God makes us different so that he could enjoy a relationship with us unlike any other.

*Loving God is the greatest commandment because that is all God expects of us.
