Greetings from Ipoh, the City of Bougainvillaes.

We are happy and proud to welcome you once again to Ipoh, to attend, either as a participant or as one of the many eminent speakers invited to the 11th Perak Mental Health Convention 2016. The care and management of people with mental illness has improved tremendously since 1996 when we held our first Perak Mental Health Convention. Medicationsshow their response much earlier, have less side effects and are relatively easily available at allhospitals and clinics. The theme “Providing Opportunities, Sharing Responsibilities and Advocacy” is chosen to empower mental health workers , carers and friends to work towards better care and to address the needs of the mentally ill.

Do come and participate. It is meetings like this, that will accelerate the sharing and exchanging of knowledge, experience and wisdom in the quest to achieve less morbidity among the mentally ill and their carers.
