SMITHSONIAN X 3D – CASA SUPERNOVA REMNANT

The death of these star is called a supernova which was captured in high resolution. They were able to collect enough data to create this 3D model. This model provides different types of information, including a video on the rebirth and death of a star. It doesn’t contain annotations on the actual model, though.

The original is in the left picture. My edited version is on the right with brighter, almost neon-like, colors.

SMITHSONIAN X 3D : WRIGHT FLYER (1903)

The Wright Flyer 3D model provides information on the history of this flyer. They also have a still image of the moving plane as it takes its first flight on December 17, 1903.

The original 3D model is located on the top while my edited version is located at the bottom. In my edited version, I added a wireframe and increased its reflection and turned on the annotations which described and explained the function of each part of the plane. It now looks more metallic and geometric.

SKETCHFAB : SERENEVAYA 10 BY HOLZ

This 3D model was actually created on CAD from scratch so there may be some 3D printing issues if the model is not watertight and manifold. This website actually shows how many faces and vertices the 3D model contains.

The original is on the left. The rendered version I made is on the right. I turned on the wireframe and made it blue. I also changed the scene into “Matcap” to show more contrast.

SKETCHFAB : LEAKY ROOFBY HARRISONHELI

This 3D model of some of the house and area with emphasis on the roof was taken by a UAV in search for any causes for the roof leak. This model would not be able to pass the validation stage because there are multiple openings and the area has not been cleaned up. I do like that this person investigated and added annotations on locations with probable causes for the leaky roof and resolving them before it causes more issues around the house.

The top is the original. The bottom is my rendered version. I ended up putting a green wireframe; it has approximately 1.1 million faces and 558,800 vertices.

THINGIVERSE : CUSTOMIZABLE POWER RINGBY BESKYTT This 3D model of the ring

can be altered and customized Beskytt and it can be customizable according to size and color.

SKETCHFAB : MODEL BY A6B8

Original is on the left and my rendered version is on the right. The back of this 3D model is hollow and it has 60,000 faces and 30,700 vertices.
