Key words
between group by Chi-square test for base line data and t-test for
means duration of bone healing.
The characteristics of the patients were similar in both groups. ln
medullary bone grafting by HA bone substitutes, mean union time was
124.0+16.3 days (range B4-152 days) and mean length of follow-up
was 8.2+1.9 months. ln no bone grafting group mean union time was
130.4+20.2 days (range 92-169 days) and mean length of follow-up
was 9.0+1.8 months. There was no significant difference in union time
(P=0.362) in both group. There were no any complication observed
in this study.
It appeared that ORIF with broad DCP and medullary bone grafting
by HA bone substitutes could be used for enhancement of bone healing
in closed femoral shaft fractures type 41 , A2, A3, 81 , 82 and C2
which no cortical defect after reduction and fixation.
