Film Poster Portrayal.

I want to base my film poster on the ‘DARK KNIGHT’ I like the vibe it gives it off its dark and mysterious which basically describes Batman. I like the setting of the poster with the dark clouds and fire the colours fits very well with the image, this poster is successful with its target

audience as it attracts the audiences eye and makes me want to watch the film because I would want to know what is happening with the image on the poster, I want my film poster to give off that same

effect.

Film Poster Portrayal. Colours & Connotations:

The orange connotes fire this is linked with danger, and its formed in the Bat man logo this shows that he is dangerous and no evil must get in his way.

Black is used to give the impression of mystery and curiosity, its also dark which best describes batman and he is best in the night . Where he is hidden and black helps show that.

The navy blue colour is supposed to give off this midnight theme effect, it goes with the thunderstorm image helps make the city look under threat and needs to be saved.

The white is used to stand out against the dark background so they can see the important text on the poster e.g. the release of the film.

Film Poster Portrayal. Image:

The image is placed on the centre and I have noticed on other film posters that they mostly placed in the centre so to follow the conventions I have decided it would be best to place my image eon the centre of the my film poster, as its proven to be more successful as it gains audiences attention.

Film Poster Portrayal. Overall Conclusion:To make a successful film poster I must follow the codes and conventions, I want to create a film poster that is similar to the Dark Knight film poster, that means I should follow the same directions they did to make the film poster like the colours, text, credits, layout, etc… this will help me make a professional film poster.
