Genre Conventions The opening titles of Edward scissor hands , starts off with snow falling giving the audience an idea that it might be set around Christmas time, also because of the way it is set out with snow on the screen when the credits are coming up like it would in a children’s film but the main colours are black white and a misty blue, giving It a somewhat scary effect.

Narrative The start of the opening titles shows snow falling down the screen giving off the idea that it might be set in the winter around Christmas time making the audience think it is a Christmas film , we can tell this by the dark colours of mainly blue and black and the white colour of white on the text and the snow. Then later in the opening credits the cameras shows a pair of scissors emphasizing the fact that the film is called Edward scissorhands, then the camera zooms out and we see a pair of hands which gives the idea that they could have been Edwards hands before he got scissors as hands.
