FILIAL THERAPY AND THERAPEUTIC PARENTING WORKSHOP 14 th 16 th March 2017 | 9:00am 4:30pm Charles Darwin University, Casuarina Campus, DARWIN COST $500 | $1,200 group of 3 This workshop will teach participants how to actively engage parents/carers as partners in play in the therapeutic process. The workshop focuses on Bratton and Landreth’s (2006) evidence-based Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). Learning CPRT will allow students to teach parents/carers filial play therapy, a form of play therapy in which parents learn to be therapeutic agents with their children. Literature regarding brain development and healthy relationships between caretakers and children will also be explored. PRESENTER: ROCHELLE RITZI International Guest - Rochelle Ritzi, PhD, is a Licensed Professional Counsellor Supervisor, National Certified Counsellor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, and an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas and Texas A&M Along with teaching, she works in private practice where she specializes in play therapy and strengthening child-parent relationships. She has conducted field advancing international research, presented regionally and internationally, given several keynote presentations, and is published in the field of counselling.
