The following suggestions develop number recognition, counting and ordering.. Encourage your children to say each number aloud as they

discover and talk aloud as they are doing the activity so you can get a good understanding of what they

know. Question your child: You may want to ask what’s the number?

Which number is more than/bigger than or less than/ smaller than? Can

you put these numbers in order?

The following activities develop children’s recognition of initial sounds – make sure all the letters are small letters and not capitals

For this activity I would either ask your child to make sounds or if you feel they are confident to read a cvc word you could write cvc words on the cards to match e.g. – cat, dog, get, pin, in, on , and etc.
