Year 3 Timetable Week Beginning Monday 29th JuneR.E:This week we will be starting our next topic: Special places.Question: What makes a place special? For many people, some places in the world are special. For others the whole world is special. We all feel a need to look after what is special to us. Sometimes it is easy to explain why things are special. At other times it might be difficult to put into words why something is special.

Today we are going to meet a little girl called Yulissa. Yulissa’s family were forced to flee from their home because of fighting between the army and guerrillas. They moved to a city and struggled to find work. Thanks to training from CAFOD and the Colombian Catholic Church, the head of the family is now a member of a shoemaking business. Yulissa says: “I like my grandfather’s business. He is becoming a big business man and he wants to help us get a better life.”

Today we would like you to upload or draw a picture of your special place and explain why it is your special place.

Year 3 Timetable Week Beginning Monday 29th JuneHistory:Question: How do you make a mummy?

The Ancient Egyptians has very different views on what happens to your body after you died. They believed in an afterlife when someone died. Mummification helped someone reach the afterlife as they believed that an afterlife could only exist if there was a form the ka (soul) could repossess after death. Egyptians believed that the only way to do this was if the body was recognisable.

Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgVlXOyU10I to learn about the process of making a mummy.

For extra information visit here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zrcg2sg

Today we would like you to order the steps of the mummification process. You can either print them, put them in the right order and upload a picture OR number the correct order on Seesaw.
