Page 6: Fighting Against Procrastination

Page 7: Fighting Against Procrastination

To-Do List

• Why make a list?• How to make it?

Page 8: Fighting Against Procrastination

To-Do List : Why make a list?

• Often, you need to do several things in the same day.

• A to-do list gives you a clarity of things need to do, not simply what pops into your mind.

• It reminds you of deadline(s) and time limit(s) of the tasks you need to accomplish.

• It helps you prioritize tasks.

Page 9: Fighting Against Procrastination

Make it in 6 easy steps:• DECIDE• WRITE• PLACE• DATE• ORGANIZE• PRIORITIZE

DECIDE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Decide the tasks you need to do for tomorrow.

Page 11: Fighting Against Procrastination

WRITE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Write the list on the night before. Therefore, you’ll have an idea what to do first time in the morning.

Page 12: Fighting Against Procrastination

PLACE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Place your lists on noticeable spots where you can see all the time. You also can make it as a Sticky Note on your computer.

Page 13: Fighting Against Procrastination

DATE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Date your list (as a friend, of course :D).Put the deadlines for every task on the list so you have the idea how to allocate the time.

Page 14: Fighting Against Procrastination

ORGANIZE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Organize it in a efficient way. You may put tasks that can be done simultaneously, or group things that needs to be done in one place.

Page 15: Fighting Against Procrastination

PRIORITIZE

To-Do List : How to make it?

Prioritize things. It is suggested to do hard or unpleasant task first in the morning, so that you may move onto the next tasks with ease.

The Mnemonics

To-Do List : How to make it?

Frankly, I came up with something out of sudden.Let’s call this guy William.“Does William Prefer Dancing Over Planking?” may be a mnemonics for the steps:Decide, Write, Place, Date, Organize, and Prioritize

Podomoro Technique

• Literally means ‘tomato’.• Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late

1980s.• The idea is short frequent breaks can

improve mental agility in doing tasks.

Page 18: Fighting Against Procrastination

Podomoro Technique (cont)

• Decide your task.• Putting 5’ break after every 25’ work.• Take longer break after four pomodori.

Podomoro Technique (cont)

TIPS:• The time DOES NOT necessarily need to be

25 minutes (may be longer or shorter)• You DON’T HAVE TO buy the timer; use your

mobile phone timer or an app on your computer.

Create Your Own Method!

The methods and tricks mentioned earlier, despite being popular, may not be suitable for you. Why not make your own?

Even the pomodoro was once simply a student’s idea. Therefore I suggest you to experiment and creating your own method!
