Mosquito Control
The novel mass trapping approach against Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti uses the com-bination of two diff erent, highly eff ective trap types that target adults of diff erent stages.
Fight the Tiger Mosquito
with Biogents‘ Perfect Trap Combination for Large-Scale Vector Control
Deploy Biogents „2 + 1 package“ to each household:
2 x BG-GATs Continuously trapping gravid mosquitoes
+
1 x BG-Suction trapContinuously trapping host-seeking mosquitoes
Continous use leads to
• increasing vector mortality• reduction of human biting rates • reduction of disease transmission
Ideal for large-scale vector control programs due to
• cost eff ectiveness• applicability at household level• user-friendliness• eco friendliness and sustainablility; no toxic substances are used, no induction of
insecticide resistance

BG-GAT traps:
• targeting gravid Aedes adults• passive trap• user-friendly• low costs due to its simple design and low maintenance• placement: Aedes aegypti: outdoors, Aedes albopictus:
outdoors
BG-Suction Trap
• targeting host-seeking females• the BG-Suction trap is a BG-Sentinel-type trap using the
same patented technology, but designed for continous indoor operation
• smaller, sturdy design, silent and less expensive to purchase and operate (energy consumption reduced by half to 1.5 W)
• trap collects high numbers of both vectors (Aedes albopic-tus and Aedes aegypti,) and nuisance mosquitoes (Culex quinquefasciatus).
• user satisfaction is usually high due to the visual feedback of collected mosquitoes
• placement: Aedes aegypti: indoors, Aedes albopictus: out-doors (with optional rain shield)

Calendar week
Median number of Aedes albopictus females collected each week per 1.5 hr human landing collection at areas with Biogents traps (blue line) and areas without Biogents traps (black line).
Biogents suction traps are proven to reduce mosquito biting rates
Example: A study in Cesena, Italy shows the reduction of Aedes albopictus human landing rates through the use of Biogents mosquito traps1
