But in developing countries, thousands of people are poisoned every year, since protective clothing is either not available, unaffordable, or unwearable due to the climate. Syngenta knows this, and pushes the sale of its toxic best-seller in the Global South nonetheless. The Swiss corporation thus violates human rights, valuing profits higher than the health and life of small farmers and plantation workers.
