MARRIAGE SUNDAY
As part of Marriage Sunday 2018 celebrations, Cardinal Thomas
Collins will preside at a special Mass to honour couples
celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2018. If you (or a couple
you know) are celebrating a 25th, 40th, 50th, or 60th+ wedding
anniversary this year, they are invited to join in this special
celebration. The Mass will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday,
February 11 at Blessed Trinity Parish (3220 Bayview Ave –
North York). A reception will follow Mass. All are welcome to

BOOK-KEEPER NEEDED
CANADA SUMMER JOBS PROGRAM
The federal government has introduced new requirements for
employers applying for the Canada Summer Jobs grant. To be
eligible for funding, employers must attest that both the job and
the organization’s core mandate respect certain “values” as
determined by the federal government including the
government’s position on abortion, sexual orientation and gender
identity or expression. Organizations unable or unwilling to make
this attestation in whole or in part will be deemed ineligible for
the grant. This requirement is clearly unjust.
Many Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese of
Toronto and many other faiths involved in charitable activity at
soup kitchens, shelters, refugee welcome centres or summer
camps are impacted by this decision. Please take a moment to

Hats are being made for newborns and for the homeless.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Collect one can of food per day during the 40 days of Lent, which
begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb 14th and then one extra can per
person on Easter Sunday. Drop off your cans any time throughout
the Lenten season in the designated boxes in the church foyer and
they will be distributed to those in need.

WOMEN’S LENTEN RETREAT
The office for Evangelization and Catechesis (OEC) and the
Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF) have
developed a free web-based video resource to assist with the study
of Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. This
resource, available in both English and French, consists of nine 7-
8 minute videos as well as discussion guides. It is designed to be
used by individuals in their homes or in groups gathered in
diocesan, parish or school settings for ongoing individual and
communal reflection on “the joy of love”.
