God makes the impossible… possible. It is hard to imagine being forgiven for the things that we have done wrong - even harder to imagine forgiving others who have wronged us. Living after death seems like the greatest impossibility, yet Christ was raised from the dead as a promise to us of life eternal. The greatest impossibilities of life can be made possible - by the power and the love of God.

†HYMN GALILEEThere's a Wideness in God's Mercy

There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea; there’s a kindness in God’s justice, which is more than liberty. There is welcome for the sinner, and more graces for the good! There is mercy with the Savior; there is healing in His blood. For the love of God is broader than the measure of our mind; and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.If our love were but more simple, we should rest upon God’s word; and our lives would be illumined by the presence of our Lord.

†SENDING FORTH Dr. Robert E. LongOur mistakes do not defi ne us; we have been set free.God’s mercy restores our lives and reminds us that we are children of God.Christ sends us forth to make a diff erence by sharing God’s love and bringing hope to the world!

And can it be? And can it be?And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Savior’s blood? Died He for me who caused His pain? For me who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, should die for me?He left His Father’s throne above, so free, so infi nite His grace; emptied Himself of all but love, and bled for Adam’s helpless race; ‘tis mercy all, immense and free; for O my God, it found out me.And can it be? And can it be? Amazing love, how can it be?No condemnation now I dread; Jesus and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him my living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine. Bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown through Christ my own.Amazing love, how can it be that Thou my God should die for me? Amazing love, can it be?

To right the unrightable wrong, to love pure and chaste from afar, to try when your arms are to weary, to reach the unreachable star! This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far; to fi ght for the right without question or pause, to be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause! And I know if I’ll only be true to this glorious quest, that my heart will lie peaceful and calm, when I’m laid to my rest. And the world will be better for this, that one man, scorned and covered with scars, still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable stars, the unreachable stars, the unreachable stars!

†THE GOSPEL Rev. Jeremy SandersThen they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house. Peter followed at a distance; and when they had kindled a fi re in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. Then a maid, seeing him as he sat in the light and gazing at him, said, "This man also was with him." But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know him." And a little later some one else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not." And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, "Certainly this man also was with him; for he is a Galilean." But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, "Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times." And he went out and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:54 - 62)This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
